Default private party value

Have a SRT6 Roadster black with 12322 miles on it. A dealer has mentioned that he would be interested in buying it from us. I have checked Edmunds, Kelly blue book and black book values. Getting quite a varying price for it.
Excellent condition
has all options including the NAV
Zip code is 68825 (central nebraska)

I am interested in selling, book prices I mention above run from a low (edmunds) to a high (kelly) the price estimated value differs $3500.00.

thanks
woodpecker

With only 12k on it I would start at the highest price and see what they offer. But if it's a dealer looking to buy it they're probably going to try to give you trade in value.

Don't just go by those prices............and yes they vary by quite a bit. Go by what they are listed for on the internet (many sites) and consider if they are listed by dealers and private parties. That will give you a bette handle on what to list it for. Mileage, color, condition etc. should all be comparable within some relative range.

Good luck. I'm looking for an SRT6 Convertible but not necessarily in black. However, depending on your price, mileage and condition, it's in the realm of possibilities that I'd be interested. Pictures etc. are all important for the forum members.

Thanks.

How much are you looking to get for it and where are you located in Nebraska? I am in CO and might be interested if the price is right.

Man, I would be interested in that but I keep thinking about all the work it would take to get it where my xfire is with the mods

Try to sell it on here and keep it in the family. Most dealers don't have a clue what the car is worth and will just throw a low ball at you. I remember when CarMax offered me $9k for mine when it was $18k on KBB.

Callaway. Population 500. Might be hard sell.

I have sold a few cars to Carmax. Always seem to get $500 over KBB's top trade-in price.

I have always looked to Edmunds.com for values buying or selling. Lately they seem a bit low at times but the values are supposed to be based on actual selling prices where cars really change hands as opposed to asking prices some of the other sites use.

If you could get the SRT-6 to Tennessee I might be a buyer. I am looking for a nice one.

I don't want to hijack this tread but I have to agree that I've found CarMax to be more than fair and they are certainly the easiest way to sell your car. The last car they appraised (and bought) from me they offered $500.00 MORE than had been asking with a For Sale sign in the window for two weeks.

Not to rain on anybody's parade, but...

I just went through this whole rigamarole with my 96K mile very good condition SRT6 roadster -- confirmed by three appraisers.

Could not sell the car private party even after lowering the price to $10K. Carmax and two different dealers offered me WHOLESALE, not TRADE-IN. Hope you find a private party, but don't be insulted when you see the offers from anybody else.

I can echo this sentiment...............I was offered $15k for an almost mint SRT6 roadster with 8300 miles, on a $54k Corvette . Dealers simply don't want the hassle of selling them

Thanks for all your information. I did take it to the dealer, they offered to consign it which worries me somewhat. I don't really trust giving a dealer the keys not knowing how they do test drives and such.

I do have a nephew who manages the Porsche dealership in Omaha NE. They also sell about every brand of car made at their various locations in and around Omaha. He has mentioned that he could try and re-sell it for me. That may well be my best option.

You are correct that Callaway is a village of 500 lonesome folks. That has lots of advantages just one of them not being re-selling a rare-car. haha

The dealer I mentioned above thought 15K would probably be a "top" price they could fetch. The appraiser they had on staff did seem to know more about a SRT6 than I would have imagined. But again, this dealership is in a town of 30K people. Just would like to find the ONE person who would like to own it.

I am a little sick right now. If I knew I could have picked another black roadster with those miles at that price I would have been out there this week to drive it home. I just paid more for an E 350 MB for the wife. I would have bought yours at that price. It is worth every penny. Don't let anyone on here tell you different. Hang on to it if you can...That is a great price for a low mileage roadster. I wouldn't take 25 for mine.

I am as private as you can get. I paid 25k used and turned down 30k. Why? It has a Jayne Mansfield chassis..There is no other. I won't sell.

I bought a n Areo Blue Pearl coat roadster with 20k on it for 19 500 last year and think I got a pretty good deal. It's the color I wanted and there were only 2 in the country that were for sale at the time that I could find.

I shipped it from California to NJ in an enclosed truck for 1400
