I know Mercedes says auto trans additives aren't necessary, just wondering if anyone has experience with one that improves performance and reliability?

 

NO, do not put anything in that tranny,except the recommended fluid, and make sure you get that from Mercedes, not an off brand that says it's equal, it's not. jim

 

+1 on that. Only put in what MB recommends at the recommended scheduled intervals.

 

I always used fluid from Mercedes because I still get employee pricing until I had a trans line break and had to fix the car in a parking lot. I bought Mopar ATF+4 and I actually prefer the way the trans shifts with the Mopar ATF+4 over the MB fluid. All the shops that build NAG1 transmissions (such as Bill at Paramount Performance) for the LX platform cars recommend the ATF+4.

 

being that the transmission in my crossfire is a Sl55 tranny , I will use MB Recommended fluid. jim

 

I do like the 11.04 and 127mph.....sweet.....
