Default Need a body control module 5189811AA

Last month my SRT sprung a leak and water got into the car on the passinger side. By the time I tried to dry it out and start it, the entire system went dead. I had it towed to the local dealer and he said the water was so bad it flooded the body control module. Does anyone have one around that we could negotiate for?

Thanks,

Greg

The BCM is NOT in the passenger side footwell.
It is in the black box by the battery along with the PTCM and the RCM.
How did IT get flooded. while the other 2 remained dry , I ask.

The first time I saw water it came into the car from under the dash on the passengers side. Ive had this SRT for 6-7 years now and it never leaked before. It was just sitting in the driveway of the house. The dealership is trying to locate the leak now. The Powertrain control module was also damaged but they are going to replace it at no charge due to it's still has some type of warranty from the federal emissions department. Don't how that works but for a 3700.00 part I'll not ask questions.

OK, then the leak must have been into the control module box, then out the cooling fan outlet into the passenger footwell at the amp & TCM.
Best check the amplifier and the TCM modules also .......

( also remove the plastic cowl cover and get all those leaves out of there that have accumulated from parking in the driveway. )

You can pick up a used BCM from car-part.com for as little as $65.
Do you know if the dealership will reprogram it for you ?

According to the dealership a used body control module cannot be programmed for use in a different car because it is VIN specific. Does anyone know if this is true? I found a used one for 149.00 and a new one for 1143.00. Much cheaper than the 1700.00 this dealer is charging. The problem is they will not even try a used module.

Hi!

Several forum members has changed there BCM without needing to reprogram it. So that wouldn't be a issue. Where did you find one and what was the Mercedes number for it?
