Default SRT-6 Wing is Awesome

Totally radical duuhhd!!

Just kidding. But no, seriously, the SRT6 wing is HOT. I know it's extreme styling for most, as most people don't seem to like it. However, I think back to the early Porsches with the huge rear wing. They were the COOLEST at the time... I think the SRT-6 wing looks great, and from all angles, fits the lines of the car perfectly..

I want to get one and put it on my coupe.. it would be so friggin COOL to have the SRT6 wing MOVE up like the coupe one.. How SICK would that be.. Only it would block your rear view entirely It would still be awesome!! Too bad mines leased.

I used to hate the wing but now I kind of like it. It grew on me a lot. I definitely don't like the SRT-6 wheels though.

As for it being leased, so is mine. My last car a 99 sebring convertible was also leased. That car was pretty beat up, it had a huge key mark on the trunk, the front of the bumper was all scraped up. dents and dings everywhere. Plus I ripped my entire trunk out and had a custom fiberglass enclosure for subs in their, which I took out. When I gave the car back, there was no lining at all in the trunk. There was probably $2-3k worth of stuff they could have charged me for. They didn't charge me a penny somehow, I got so lucky.

I'm going to buy my Crossfire now once it's off lease. My lease is 12k miles per year. In one year I've put on 30,000 miles. Yikes...

I don't like the wing even though it's nicely made to look more radical, the original one works fine and would be fine for the first 155mph anyway. And as far as DC has not made any Quotes that it's really needed over the autowing!

As the wheels look nice they are supposed to be lighter but, visually that don't look better either, the only improvement is the front air damn and the interior leather suede inserts. I thought I had read that a larger tirewould be on the rear but that is not the case on the SRTs I've seen!

Then I guess there won't be as many folks out there wanting to trade their SRT6 "Fixed" wings for the "Deployable" ones as it seemed at first!!!
Man, and I really had my hopes up!!

Dan- since you don't care for the wheels on the SRT6 either...................I'll swap you mine for them (got Pilots).
In fact, I can drive to your house and we can switch all the parts you don't want.
Let me know so I can plan a vacation.
What did you find out about Alabaster availability???

I like the SSB one I saw today. I like the wheels they just don't thrill me. I do like the SL600 05 they look nice. And would only cost $1200 + 2 rear tires.

No alabaster SRTs. Black Areo blue, SSB, and Graphite. all have the same interior. I may do it or buy it next month. I do want to drive the new Vette first. I've driven the SRT-6 and it's awesome but the vette is even faster! And without the supercharger.

Good Luck!! I'm glad for you. Sorry about the Alabaster note, I just relayed what the dealer said.
Another car to check out is the new 350SLK. That has me written all over it!!!!!!!!!!!
Let us know which way you go.

Not to bring up an old topic..but....

While the auto wing feature seems nice the fixed wing on the SRT, IMO, really completes the overall look of this car....

Saw my first (probably more like noticed) black Crossfire (non-SRT) and without the wing it reminds me of a whimpering puppy with it's tail between it's legs...no offense to other Crossfire members...just my 2 c's..

the wing makes a bold statement which is needed for a more aggressive and muscular higher horsepower car.

i didn't like it at first...but i think it grows on you in time.

The wing is also a fixed blind spot and not like the auto deployed wing where you can have a safer ride on the city limits 35-55 mph. The wheels are the same as the Chrysler LHS therefore it's not really an original feature not like the limited coupes where it owned its own wheel style.

I installed the SRT-6 fixed wing on my 2004 Coupe. The cost to do this with paint was $1700. The biggest issue I still have is my dealership is too clueless to find out how to program the computer to tell it that I no longer have a retractable wing. When I hit 80mph on the speedo, my computer starts beeping to warn me that the wing is not deployed etc. Also, the switch for deploying/retracting the wing... the indicator light flashes nonstop. The dealership tells me that they have contacted Chrysler, but the only fix is to put the original wing back on. Total B.S. if you ask me. I asked them to disconnect the device that makes the dinging sound and they told me they could not due that for fear of causing other issues etc. It would be nice to talk to someone at Chrysler (I have tried) to figure out what I can do to put a dummy plug in the switches place and turn off the 80+ mph beep indicator. No one at the dealership seems to care. My point is the SRT-6 is the Coupe, just with the fixed wing and bigger motor so, WTF over?
