Default SRT6 worth it overall?

I have searched and cant find a thread that would tell me if its worth buying an SRT6 for reasonable money. If i could get a roadster for 14k and under i think i would do it.

What problems might I face owning one ?

It would be a daily driver and I do love hauling ***!! Especially on these DFW highways!

Anyone care to give there overall experience with an SRT6?

I am currently driving a Pontiac G8 GT but I'm a two door kind off guy...

I love mine, If something happened to it I would buy another.
The crossfire is like the red headed step child. Chrysler or MB don't want much to do with it.
Do some reading to get an idea of what can go wrong with these cars and decide for yourself.

If you are a GM guy, you will have to have some patience with the XF. With the right mods, your G8 won't stay with it as I have proven on the track before. So that is the kind of quickness you can get to in a roadster or coupe. They have their quirks like any car, but with no help from Chrysler or MB. Your only help will be on here. If you are up to that, then by all means, buy an SRT6. Performance you won't regret. Your wallet will become lighter as you learn the few little additions you can do to make it surpass your G8. Good luck. Anything under $20k with low miles and good condition is a good buy on a roadster.

Bought my daily driver in March 2013. Still smiling. No regrets.

Had a NA, changed to a SRT-6, hell I even made a website so that really tells how much I appreciate this cars. Just get paddle shifters, better suspension and a pulley and better airflow induction and you are set.

If it had been available with a manual trans I would have bought one but wanted something with a clutch.

Are you kidding me? Worth it? I drive my car as hard as possible and it just gets stronger and stronger as time goes by. Yes, a few things have gone south like the RCM and leaking intercooler but they're extremely durable. I can't tell you how impressed I am with the engine. No words. AMG engines are amazing.

Good luck finding an SRT6 roadster for under $14k. It is becoming difficult to find nice coupes for near that price, and almost 4 times as many were manufactured. That's why I jumped on the first nice coupe I found back in 2008 for $21k. No regrets and it has been a great summer driver. Now, if I could find a clean, stock roadster SRT6 in the same color, I would jump on it. I have passed up at least two more identical coupes since I bought mine. I have had next to no problems with both cars, with 51k on the roadster and 26k on the SRT6.

I started out with three N/A Crossfires, but always wanted the SRT-6. I found an SRT-6 coupe about three years ago with low mileage and loved it, but wanted the convertible. I found my current one in February 2013 and I have no regrets with either of the SRT-6s that I have owned. Get it, you won't regret it.

While mine is available it is for reasons completely unrelated to the car.

I did not even have to adjust the seat when I got in this car. I immediately felt at home with every aspect of it.

Of the numerous high performance cars I have owned I doubt any were as fast as this car yet it is completely practical as a day to day driver.

Find the lowest mileage one you can, buy it quickly and then hold on to it.

My SRT6 was a retirement gift to myself and it has delivered more smiles per gallon than anything I've ever owned. Fun to drive, fun to play with adding mods and a real attention getter.

Loved it so much, I bought a 2nd.

$14k is a little low for a SRT6 roadster, but not impossible depending on mileage and how patient you are.
Good luck

Still sexy after a decade and not much can keep up at the track on street tires. The fiance thinks I love the car more than her....not true, but close!

That's one of the primary reasons I bought the black one. A bonus, even here in California, is that they get admiring stares all the time.

I bought mine in February of 2009 with 11,000 miles. I used it as a daily driver for 3 years. Now I have 90K miles on it. So far, I have only replaced the aux air pump, one pulley bearing, and the intercooler pump. All are all common failures on these cars. That makes it one of the most trouble free cars I have owned. You will find this website is excellent for diagnosing a problem. Most importantly the car is a thrill to drive. However, I don't recommend it for the type person who will run to a Mercedes mechanic when something goes wrong unless they have plenty of money to waste.

I believe you can find that roadster for under 14k, you may have to consider one with a few additional miles on the odometer like I did...

If the SRT had been available with a manual trans I would have bought one. Since it wasn't, I bought a Limited with 6 speed. My feeling is that if you have to run premium anyway, it might as well be boosted.

(Do like watching the spoiler go up and down though).

So what did you buy?

Or, did you decide you are comfortable being a four door kind of guy?
