Default Bringing the 6 back to life

Returning from a short 4 month deployment in a few days, I left the keys to my 6 with a friend, however I doubt it's been reliably started up. Expecting the worst, what recommendations could you guys provide? I'm planning on charging the battery before starting. Not worried about flat spots, as new tires are the first thing on my list. I changed the oil just before leaving, added stabilizer to the fuel. Left a dehumidifier inside(Florida), again, I doubt it's been reliably emptied. Any crucial information I should know before warming it back up? I appreciate any and all help in advance.

Shouldn't be a concern. Throw in a couple-o-cans of Seafoam or Techron and if you have access and room in the tank, add fresh fuel till full. If you can find available, add 115 racing or avgas just to help burn up the old stuff. But probably not really needed. Wouldn't hurt though.

Hopefully they took care of your car.....thanks for your service..... Just look it over real good. I store mine more than I drive them. Batteries are the worst to keep charged even with tenders.....I wouldn't do a lot with the fuel with only 4 months in great weather... UP north where I am, I would be a little more concerned....good luck

From my experience 4 months is not a real long time to be too concerned about starting up your XF. I think you battery will be your biggest problem depending how old it is and what charge it had on it when you left. Sounds like you did the proper things before you left. Burn up the old fuel and enjoy being back in the greatest country in the world. I served in the Navy and was gone for longer periods (9 months to 14 months)and it always felt soooo goood to be back in the U.S.A again. Welcome home and thanks for serving. Go out and find a fun road to drive your SRT on! p.s. check you tires air pressure too.

Your "friend" most likely beat the heck out of your car while away. I know my brother did to my car. 4 months is nothing. Go for a long drive to burn off any moisture in the oil, fill the tank with good gas and be happy.

Welcome home and thank you for your service.
I would not worry about fuel in just 4 months. But since has been sitting a extended period of time after you start it for the first time let it sit and warm up good before you move it, since there is 0 oil residue left coating the cylinders and valve train. In a automatic if sitting and running for a few minutes shift it in neutral and set the brake while you let it sit, I am sure this transmission would be fine but I have seen other automatic transmissions get excessive wear from sitting in park running for a extended periods.
Best R&R is a curvy road with a few good straights and no traffic.
