Question BAS/ESP dash indicator

My indicator comes on intermittently. Seems to happen more often when driving in the rain. I am driving normal not spinning tires or driving fast. It resets when the ignition is turned off/on.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Does it come on and stay on? That is strange. I would expect it to come on occasionally in the rain if a tire slips -- it should blink a few times as it works and then go out.

That would be the traction control light that comes on when a tire slips. I'm thinking a wheel speed sensor is going bad.

When it comes on it stays on until ignition reset. Would I have a code set when the light is on?

I am a little confused, as I am getting old, but bas/esp doesn't usually act that way. Did you do the reset, lock to lock with the steering wheel? I have only had this happen once that I remember, after a dead battery... did the reset, have never seen it again...

Thumbs up Re: BAS/ESP dash indicator

Stopped at a red light and when it turned green I realized the engine had turned off. It would crank but not start. Pushed the car off to a side road and looked under the hood, couple minutes later it started with the check engine light on. Drove it home and parked it. Connected my code reader and got P0 335, crank shaft position sensor. Replaced the sensor and all is well including the BAS/ESP indicator stays off now. FYI

Thanks for posting the finish/completion of the problem. Too many just never give the final result. Doc, made me smile with "confused, as I am getting old". I thought it was my medication. Good to know I'm not the only one
