As long as it's black. Not for long...
I have been a member here for some time. I started with a 04 grafite. Then a tree fell on that and I bought another members black srt.
I haven't been on the forum for a while and with all my toys the srt became my daily driver. Luckily my shop is about a mile from my house so it's still under 30,000 miles but the paint is awful. The factory black just didn't hold up. My wife's 2001 pt cruiser has nicer paint.
Today I started preparing my srt for a new paint job.
I'm sure I will upset some but it's not going to be all black.
I'll post some updates as I get stuff done. It takes time when you have to work for a living.

Obviously more disassembley needs to be done but I still need to drive it to and from work. Lol
I'm going to look cool cruising around in it now.

My '02 AMG is the common boring silver. I see some describe their color as "Brilliant Silver", no doubt the manufacturers description. I'd trade it for black in a heartbeat. A well painted, well prepped black car cannot be beat! Red has got to be the worse. It says "I drive a small car so I chose red so you can see me and not crush me."++++++++
I think the truth is that
Red says "look at me"
and Black says ..... "wash me"
my first car (bought with my own money when I was 15) was a fire-engine red 65 GTO .... I was never worried about getting squashed

Cheers,
Chris
your reply was really funny.
in replying to a reply made to comments made by someone other that the OP ... I rained a bit on your cool project ...
I hope I did not strike a nerve .... how inadvertently crass of me .... my bad.
I like red and black together . those were my car colors my first 3 years racing on local NASCAR dirt tracks (had to wash that car a lot )
Cheers,
Chris
Got my base coat today. Just for my black base, gold base (under color) and candy red base coat. $900 my cost.
That's doesn't include any sealer or clear. That's a lot of money for base coat on such a small car. Lol
Planning on doing let down panel tomorrow night.

But hey, gives you reason to modify it.
I have done some cool paint jobs over the years. I keep coming up with wild ideas for the crossfire but I really want the lines of the car to speak for themselves and keep it classy. I guess we will see what happens when I am in the booth.
I even considered painting dragon scale all over it to match my bike. Lol
