Supercooler Heat exchanger drops AIT 49F today!
we dropped 49f on the air intake temperature by swapping in the supercooler in place of the stock heat exchanger today on a srt6 with all our other bolt-ons already installed. I will datalog again once I shut the IC isolation valves which should yield even better results.
went from 194f (last week, mid 70's ambient) to 145f (today, mid 80's ambient) at the end of the wide open throttle pull at 6000rpm's, at 5k rpm it was a 52f difference, at 4k rpm's it was a 56f difference!
btw, once the car was up in the air on the lift it only took me 17 minutes to get the bumper off so I could start the heat exchanger swap.

That's a significant difference! This might be ideal to install when I change the coolant this summer, and install the isolation kit. Does this heat exchanger pretty much utilize factory mounting locations?
Yes and no. It is going to go where the stock HE is but it is not going to just fit in there rather it wll be sitting on the originals support mounts. The stock HE is comically small compared to the supercooler. The supercooler is literally the size of a radiator. No issues with mine in the 2 years ive had it on.
Rob, how much room is needed when one has an SLK32 AMG? I believe you once stated a custom grill would be needed and I think a member of the SLKworld forum is making custom grills.
If I am not mistaken does this Heat exchanger drop et's just .1 in the 1/4 mile? Any tests to look at anywhere? Thanks, mark

Is this a different supercooler than this one? NeedsWings Performance Products. NeedsWings / Waldig Supercooler
