Default Supercharger Pulleys

HI guys so im just curious where to start when it comes to upgrading my pulleys. I currently have the euro tune on the srt6 but will it need to be redone to support the new pulleys? also what sizes give the most gains and most reliability. I'm also new to superchargers do they have 2 pulleys?

First, open the hood. Find the supercharger. You should see only one pulley on the supercharger. If you want a supercharger pulley I would stay at the 65 mm.

Well in theory about 15-20 hp or so. 65mm pulley gives about 17-18 psi vs the 62mm pulley at 20-22 pending on your altitude. You would think it gives than just 20hp but the 62mm produces more chance of heat soak which actually in some cases can decrease performance. If you run a 62mm pulley or a 185mm crank pulley you HAVE to have at the very least a supercooler and fluid isovation kit to prevent heat soak. I currently run a 185 with a supercooler, isolated kit, and a killer chiller kit and It still heat soaks at times. All this advice is coming from an owner who ran a 65mm pulley for years.. stay tuned in the next 2 weeks, I'm gonna dyno mine with the 185mm pulley which produces about the same boost as the 62 does. We will see how much of a true difference it made. It for feels faster than a 65mm

AWESOME! Thanks for your input! Very curious to see how the 185 does compared to the 62. Do you still see a lot of heat soak with the 185 as well?

My answer to the question in bold is a 178mm or a 181mm crank pulley.

What sort of supporting mods would you need with these pulleys?

Honestly IMO you could get by without anything extra BUT I'd recommend a Heat Exchanger/super cooler and a retune

Cooling mods like split cooling, larger heat exchanger, auxiliary tank will always benefit an increase in boost. And a proper tune.

Does anyone know if you can still buy a 178mm or 181 mm crank pulley? I can only find a 185mm crank and 65 mm s/c pulley.

Oh, okay that makes more sense. But yea, the 178 and 181 will be most reliable and overall less expensive. Though I do love the 185 lol

Hi,
Steven here from Germany.
My buddy recently built a 165mm crankshaft pulley (stock size: 155mm) for me from a good used mb pulley because I allready have a 65mm supercharger pulley on my SLK32 and do not want to change to a single 185mm crankshaft pulley. 165 x 65 stacked equals a 188 mm single crankshaft pulley but do not overrev idler and pump pulleys. So it gets even bigger .
I haven`t tested the pulley jet because it`s winter here in Germany so i cannot confirm if it will work fine or not.
We are no vendors but we are thinking of building a bunch of 165mm pulleys for you 65mm sc pulley guys.

Please pm when interested.

Thanks
Steven

so this would be considered running stacked pulleys right? What dangers do you run into doing this sort of mod and what supporting mods are required?

You will run more danger then just running a single 62 or 185..You will need more cooling, and fuel, and exact tuning for the kind of boost a stacked setup will give you. Depending on your altitude matters a lot as well. Closer to sea level will see the most boost. You don't want to overboost that Blower. Don't forget that engine is now going on 12 years old. If you wanna make that power do it right and spend the $$ on support mods. There is a member here who made a huge writeup about his mods with his stacked setup. Look up Boostmonkey
