Could be they "mystery no start"
Several threads.

Solder rcm

Have you had any previous problems, or your crossfire run in great shape with no issues before?

Was your car hot or cold when tried?

How are the batteries in your remote?
They lock and unlock doors fine?

Did they plug in a DRBIII or a generic OBDII?

Crank position sensor is a $40 try it to see if it solves the issue.

Speedy, this part of your reply has absolutely no relevance to car starting or not starting.

Fred, hope you can solve this, have you tried going to autozone, advance auto, napa (or the like)? They usually have a name brand OBD code reader they can hook up to see if the car has any codes. The will not let you 'sign' it out, but wil come out and hook it up to test for generic codes (the basics). I would not say the shop you took it too was being evasive but they would have an interest in you leaving it there to help pay their bills.

We all can appreciate getting more information, but the FOB remote batteries have no connection to starting in any way.

After 3 tries I have to undo battery to reset....and I can turn over the motor but than it just dies like nothing ... tried extra fob and same thing they tested battery and it's oko ... the shop tried 2 kinds of obi checkers and none of they would lenk up or read thru the port and I know the guy at the shop does a lot of work for me ...he told me take it to the dealer,??!&(;;($&'$$$$$$$

Three strikes and you're out is a SKREEM problem.
Look it up here on the forum, there are a few hundred threads.

3 tries and no start "skreem" module. Go to my thread I had the issue 2x. Only OBD3 will work to reset all the alarms and sync the key fobs. Not a cheap fix but no options on this one in my experience.

If you disconnect the battery and reconnect cranks 3x then definitely SKREEM. Also only 30 retries before the ECM goes Kaput( I believe). Be wary of them trying to pad the bill , my replacement was $600. It took them over a week because original OBD3 flawed and they had to get a replacement 2nd time it took them 2 weeks because they would not believe the skreem could go out in a few months. ThaT one was done free.

Isn't there a way to have a NEW skreem module 'program' itself (without any modules/OBD)? Or is it that there is a company that can fix your skreem for a lot less than garages/service departments can do it for (I cannot remember specifically)?

OP, Search the forum for skreem repair/replacement, I am sure there are lower cost options.

I am unsure if there is a company that can program a new without the car. From my readings the electronics are very complicated , temperamental and sensitive. I have not come across any threads about a repair. If you read up on the alarm systems , down load the repair manual , very informative in itself.

I thought A bad CPS would not die out after 3 tries. I too replaced mine before it failed and yes use a Bosch and not an imitation.

I do not think a bad CPS limits you to 3 tries, then a battery disconnect reset, but I could be wrong.
Everything I have read or have been told is that the SKREEM is the owner of the three try scenario.

You can go with a CPS first it would be the cheapest route but it sounds like a skreem issue.

Whoa grasshopper ! Not quite that simple !
Rather than go into a long dissertation, I suggest you search the forum with 'skreem' under 'advanced' and draw your own conclusions.
Not everyone agrees on this fix.
Thankfully, I have never had to do it.
