ABS & BAS/ESP lights

Default ABS & BAS/ESP lights

Coming on intermittently (increasingly more frequently) with loss of ABS and cruise control.
Thought problem was fixed last autumn (sorry, fall!) when firstly, two sensors were replaced and eventually the ABS Pump and control unit.
Post winter hibernation - one short trip and it's playing up again!
Garage did more testing and suspected the replacement pump/control unit but a specialist repairer has passed it as OK...
Gearbox speed sensor and yaw sensor were also suspected but both are apparently OK.
All connections to/from ABS sensors & pump also seem fine, as do the other original sensors.
The car otherwise runs and drives fine.
Any thoughts anyone?

As I posted in another message, I recently had to bleed my brakes to get a good pedal after sitting most of the winter. Last summer the BAS/ESP light would come and go intermittently. So far after bleeding and getting all new fluid in the system, no light yet. Coincidence?

Considering how much they've done, I'd be surprised if they hadn't needed to do that already at some stage but I'll check - prepared to try anything at this stage - thanks!

Did you try synchronizing the BAS/ESP? The instruction is in the owners manual page 88.

Nearing wits end now!
Brake switch fault has caused similar problems as I recall.
Rust and dirt on the rotating part that the wheel sensors are energized by is also a problem at times.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys!
Some things have been tried and ruled out before, but who's to say they haven't recurred and are now part if the problem...?
Seems these damn lights are a regular issue with similar age Mercs too.
Anyway, I passed everything on to the garage - and some other bits from M-B forum - so fingers crossed!

Actually in my manual it's on page 135. Synchronize by turning "the steering wheel completely to the left and then to the right".

I have disconnected my battery numerous times and only had the light on once. I drove down to the road and turned the wheel and the light went out. I think this reset is probably a red herring. That is the only time the light has come on.

Hope I'm not speaking (writing) too soon, but further cleaning up and re-checking seems to have done the trick - driven the car a few times now and so far, no lights.
Trouble is, the garage are not sure what finally did the trick.
Tried sychronising on several occasions but gradually became less effective - at first it worked for a short time but lights soon returned.
Anyway, so far, so good - fingers crossed - and thanks all for responding!
