I am experiencing intermitten power window failure. The window won't go up or down or gets stuck going up or down. I can hear a faint clicking while in the driver seat when the window switch is depressed. The clicking noise seems to be coming from the door locking mechanism. I lightly sanded the locking mechanism on the body and this seemed to correct the problem. So suspicions are that it is an electrical issue. I have not split the door to check the stops. Don't think that is the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciate!!!!!

 

Hi Winnie Hi Guys this is my 1st post on here I think I use the UK forum, the reason im on here is looking for info on almost the same problem as Winnie has my drivers window seems to work when it feels like it and now my roof has joined in, I can get it working sometimes by disconnecting the battery for an hour, I think this resets the ecu but im not much of a mechanic. Im not sure if my top is out of sync with the windows as I had a problem with 1 of my flaps and had to stop the top midway through taking it down. any way the end is my roof wont go down and my window wont go up any ideas ? I thought maybe I could reset the ptcm but it seems so random has anybody else had this problem ? I have owned my xfire since 2005 as new and done 30k only in it.
