Default Odd cold start today.

Ok this morning when i started the 6 it did something weird. She started up right away as usual but revved up then down and almost stalled but then settled to normal cold idle . all by itself , no peddle input from me.
I checked for codes but none recorded.
Any idea what could cause this weird start ?
Thanks guys !

Sticking throttle plate ? Don't think it has an IAC.

I'd pop the black cover off the throttle body and use some electronics cleaner on the TPS wiper arms and the board runs.
Also, Padgett, what is an IAC ? International Automotive Committee ?

One guy on the forum reported that this was caused on his by a defective throttle pedal potentiometer.

I do have a sprint booster v3 in circuit but its turned off as i really dont like it much .
i will remove it and see if the problem happens again without it .
is the black cover hard to get at ? my back cant take leaning over very long :-(

i have to remove the airbox to get at the black cover right ?

Not that familiar with the SRT6 layout, but I can see the TB right on top as opposed to the way the NA hides it.
The plastic cover is secured with 5 or 6 spring clips that can be easily pried off with a small screw driver.

Dave: Idle Air Controller. Fly by wire cars often do not have one and open the throttle plate directly. TPS (throttle position sensor) can be monitored with Torque Pro.

ps personal opinion but when you have a computer car that a dealer does not want to see, having a good scan tool is essential. Since the Crossfire is really a Mercedes R170/SLK320 that never forgets anythingyou can double that.

Only one I have found better than Torque Pro is the iCarsoft MBII (not i980) and it is not perfect (no logging capability and photographing screens is a pain) but can read/reset the Crossfire internal systems..

MBII is U$150 but a dealer visit for diagnosis can cost that. I just consider scanners to be essential tools.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it unless it does multiple times. When you start looking for problems, you start creating problems in my opinion.

Thanks Padgett ,
Yes i agree ,very good advice. i actually have an icarsoft MBII i bought last year , i just recently updated its firmware to vers 2.
I also use Dashcommand and TP too , I checked for codes but there are none .
anyways the 'odd cold start' thing it did has not happened again since that one time .
If it does do it again i will have a look at 'popping that black cover off and giving inside a clean with contact cleaner.

Thanks and Happy Holidays !
;-)
