Default Wanting to say hello..

Just picked up a new black SRT-6 coupe a week ago and do enjoy it so far but already thinking about some small mods..

Traded in my M.B. since I was getting close to the end of the warranty and even though I know the SRT-6 uses quite a bit of parts off the old SLK (R170) still surprised to see the engine part #'s still have the 3-pointed star and AMG logo's

Long-timer over at MBKlasse and MBWorld and will do a detailed search for all my SRT-6 newbie questions but if some one would like to point me in the right direction for some of these, it would be most appreciated

First,

-Looking to change out/paint my lower mesh grill with a silver one to match the silver trim. Anyone done this yet with pics to show?

-Hate the plastic shift **** and did see a Momo one posted a couple of threads down. Any other pics of leather replacements, are these an easy DIY on our cars?

-DIY mod for the MB C32 (same engine as the SRT-6) was to change out part of the intake with that of the SL55's since it's not as restrictive with some positive gains on the dyno. Anyone try this or another aftermarket intake on the SRT-6 ?

-Notice a rattle that seems to come from the display cluster. Dealer says its normal for the car... ..is this a common problem by chance ?

-Lastly, prefer the "beep" sound when I arm my car and found that changing my DAS country settings on my MB thru Stardiag. to Netherlands would produce the beep. Anyone know of anything similar for the Crossfire ?

Again..Thanks for any advice...

i started with a momo **** and it was ok...it was taller than the factory ****...it didn't mount as low as the factory **** did...this bothered me.

i then purchased a m/b 04' slk black leather shift ****...very nice looking and classier imo. i will post a part number for you later today. *see my album/gallery (page 2) for pics.

here is a m/b link...(my shift **** is not pictured).....

the MOMO race aluminum is nice, sits just a bit lower, but its not leather...

i would guess that any of the ones that are the same shape as the Race would also be the same size, and therefore sit the same...

Check this out, some how on the pictures show like if it was dirty, but is just reflection from the flash, I am very happy with this one.

This momo also matches the steering wheel seams.

This Momo Shift **** I ordered from this site: http://sportscaraccessories.com/
Check it out is a good place.

I have chrome merc shift **** and I replaced it with the red Momo and it looks good in my blaze red crossfire. I also painted the letters of my Momo kickplate red and also have a Euro red/black wheelskin.

Good choice, when I got mine I could not believe how much the **** match the car steering wheel, plus is cool looking.
You are going to be very happy when to installed, FYI I did use two of the plastic adapters 1 on the top and i cut the other one and got inside (in the buttom).
