Good high price on a virginal Convertible
I know we have a marketplace. Too many questions. This is just a heads up for comments
Saw this on Craigs list https://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/ct...488885074.html
Saw this of Flea-Bay 2005 Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 | eBay
If you were buying, which would you choose?
And no, I'm not buying either. Having two of these Red Headed stepchildren is enough.
What I will say is that the price on these babies is going up.
Inflation?
or
Value?

This SRT6 had 6 previous owners, before the latest auction, no wonder why it sold for such a low price.....
Good luck to the new owner.

That roadster has hideous rims. Good luck with selling it at that price. The SRT6 is sold at a reasonable $15.6 price.
I sold a 2007 Coupe MT-6 with 55k miles last summer for $7900. No way am I parting with my two 2005s.
Used cars in general are going up in price but Crossfires are getting pretty old, many with multiple owners, and there is valid fear of the unknown by buyers who don't know their history.

I would NOT attribute too much with multiple owners of the SRT-6 MAINLY because the car might have had the historic recurring problems with owners out of options (and $, especially if they took it to a stealership). A potential buyer of this car (especially if the potential owner is a long-time forum member) would take it to a European mechanic, to do a complete once-over. Of course, as always, this may have been abused by shady people who have no clue trying to fix it and destroying various modules. Again, that would easily be found by that experienced forum member with a good Benz mechanic (not a Benz dealership service dept, unless you found one that would slip it into the bay).

I purchased my SSB Roadster with 17K miles, very little weather exposure, and two previous owners, in the spring of 2020 for $ 15K, which seemed high at the time. About a year ago a twin to my car with almost identical mileage sold on Bring A Trailer for $ 22K. That was nice to hear, although I did not buy the car for its investment potential, I bought it to drive and enjoy.
I agree that these cars are finally starting to get some respect.

Kern, good news that the price went up, but used cars are up to 40% more expensive overall due to demand. I bought my roadster new, it has been covered and garaged always, but has 65k miles. Otherwise almost showroom shape. I am curious as to value but I, like you, bought it to enjoy and keep. So up or down, it does not matter what it is worth to others. It is my final convertible and joins my permanent small stable: besides the SRT6, a 2018 Maserati Ghibli SQ4 and a 2011 Audi A4 MT6.
Hi Goldwing, -
You have a couple of nice vehicles in your fleet.
I realize that used car prices are trending upward as I have watched my daily drivers depreciate less than expected. Another of my collector fleet has shown some gain since I bought it - again, it is a keeper and I will drive it until I can no longer do so.
As with other cars that I desired, the Crossfire was beyond my budget when new and I was able to find a good one when the price and time was right. I tend to look for cars that are not mainstream but have some good design or functional features and then look to find a good example. I also look for the best of the breed, such as the SRT6 Crossfire. I have three more cars on my wish list and then my garage will be full.
