Default Interesting article about detailing cars

I thought I would share this to those of you who care about how your paint looks. It's about the importance of proper paint preparation before waxing...

call me ... "I g O r a N t" ... but where else can a XF owner or enthusiast... get info like this from a SINGLE website!?!?!
...right here at xff.org...

i too have an alabaster... and i know its an alabasta*d to maintain a pure lustre...

but all i can say is, my XF will only get better with age...

for me, this is the perfect LAST car for me... and now i am more in the know about the "white" paint i have.
cheers

the article discusses some of the difficulties working with a white single stage finish due to the hardness of the main ingredient in white paint. however, this shouldn't apply to the alabaster crossfire since it has a clear coat finish.

I must agree in part about white as far as it being boring, but the Alabaster is in a class all itself IMO. Everytime I see one, or the 300C in this shade, it turns my head, big time! Although you can't really get the depth from it, its by no means hard to take care of due to the clearcoat. I detailed a 97' Towncar earlier this year and it was a bit*h, especially the stains on the front bumper. You can't let stuff sit on most white cars, no way, now how. If I had to do this over again and it had to be a Crossfire, I would've went with Alabaster w/ the cedar interior!
