Default detail help needed!!

I'm going to be detailing my car tomorrow so that it will be all ready for go and show at the GTG next weekend and I was wondering if anyone could help answer a couple of questions for me. I want to blacken the rubber trim around the windows but I'm not sure what to use. Also what would be suggested for the dash and door panels? And to make the tires shine nice and black? I just finished washing it this evening and it's sitting in the garage till I can continue in the morning. Any suggestions regarding what to use and how to apply it would be great.

Thanks in advance,
John

I like Mothers "back to black", its in a red bottle and use cotton swabs to apply it w/o making a mess.

I just said in another post I don't use Turtle Wax products however I will eat my words and say the Turtle Wax tire Black that comes with the applicator sponge (about 6 bucks) is the shiniest, long lasting stuff I've used. The spray on stuff ends up on your car unless you run a rag around it and let it dry.
I actually think the TW nay be a bit too shiny for my taste but it does last a good 2-3 weeks.

Pat

TW ICE does wonders for the rubber trimming and you can wax your car as well.

I saw this infomercial about TW ICE and they said it can be used on everything. That alone makes me a little skeptical about it but if you've used it and like good for you. I for one like products that specialize in certain steps of the process, like cleaning/polishing and protecting. I guess when you don't try and be "all things to all people" you can concentrate on being GREAT at one thing!

303 aerospace protectant on trim. On tires its decent, not greasy, not low-shine either. But I find that it last a long time. I think it is water-based too, which will help reduce the chance of the rubber turning brown.

Business is kinda slow, but it is growing. Next season I will try a pro-level ad campaign.

Thumbs up Re: detail help needed!!

The only advertising I have is word of mouth, but I have business cards that I put on "select" cars. I've only gotten ONE call back using my business cards but it was a big deal...2003 BMW Z8. So far this month I've done 4 cars and have a fair amount lined up for the fall, including a repeat customer from the early spring who brought me her 88' M-B 420 SEL thats only got 100K on the clock and let me tell you this, the paint is amazing for being 18 years old too! The most I've made in one season was about $2,100. I'm sure to beat that this year. I wish I could do this for a living but its too much of a risk. And besides, its more of hobby for me, one that I get paid to do and it basically supports little trips I like to take in my car, detailing products for my own car and it also pays for things around the house and those costs that come with having kids. But I'll be doing it as long as I can because I love the look on peoples faces when they pick up their ride, priceless. Good luck Ciro, I'm sure you'll be getting more business!

Thanks for all the input from everyone. I used the Back to Black and it worked great. I used some black magic gel for the tires and it seems pretty good. I'm still looking for something to use on the dash and doors.

Thanks again,
John
