Default Leather Cleaning and Conditioning

Instead of buying the various products such as Griot's, Lexol or Sonus why not just use saddle soap as your cleaner and conditioner. Is there something lacking with saddle soap or does it accomplish both cleaning and conditioning. We use saddle soap on our leather chairs with great results.

Leatherique's site says:
"We strongly advise against saddle soap, as it has been known to remove the dye from the leather."

Here's another explanation:

I highly recommend Leatherique - great stuff!!

I'm the second owner of the car. The guy before me must have had something sharp in his pocket as the seat has a few scratches in it. Any way to get them out or at least reduced so they aren't as noticeable. They aren't deep.

I have three small gouges in one of my seats, too. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You can go to an upholstery place and have them replace just the section that was damaged, or do a google on Dr. leather or other shops that do leather repair.

The seat in question is in my SRT-6 and I'm the %$#&! idiot who did it. The gouges are on the driver's seat left bolster. Is there a dealer-installable replacement piece just for that part of the bolster? I'm afraid if I take it somewhere else, the color won't match or they'll screw up the seat mechanism somehow.

Most upholstery places carry OEM leather. In fact, I just had a place replace the center inserts on mine. Of course I wanted a different color, but they do carry OEMs. I would be concerned that the dealer would try to have you replace the whole seat.

You can't beat Griots, trust me and if you don't like it, send me the bill.
