Exclamation Your baked on brake dust worries are over...

Would you believe, right here in Ocala is a tiny company that makes their own stuff and has a product that makes short work of those black baked on stains that some of you (and I sure did) may have on your front wheels way back in....

All they make is products for detailing cars. One of the products for cleaning up wheels and disc brakes mechanisms is called "Dreaded Red"...but the stuff I used is just called "Wheel Cleaner" and it gets rid of that baked on black stuff right now. The detailer at Phillips Chrysler where I bought my car just took some on a terry cloth and rubbed on the black spot that I've been scrubbing for two weeks and it just disappeared...that stuff is amazing.

It's such a small company, owned by a genuinely good family, one of whom is apparently a chemist. They don't even have a brochure to explain about their products. They just sell their products locally to all the car dealers and deliver them sort of like the tool companies. So I told them that I was going to post their name and address and phone number here because there are a lot of people with the same brake dust issues I had and people that like to keep their Crossfires looking good. So they might want to gen up a brochure price list if someone from here calls for information.

Having said that...here's the name and address of the company...

Brite-n-Rite
1540 S.W. 5th Avenue
Ocala, Florida 34471
Local number 352-401-3636
Toll Free 866-401-3636

For those of you who live in Ocala...they are behind the Wendys on 441 just north of 17th Street on the left side heading north towards downtown. If you are coming from the south on 441 turn at the street before Wendys if from the north the street after Wendys...

Good folks and good products...professional products not the stuff you get from Advanced Auto stores and their clones...

Does the "per axel set" mean $85.00 for both front wheels $85.00 for both rear wheels?

Prices shown are for a full set (4 pads) 2 per wheel.

Full set = both front wheels complete
or
Full set = both rear wheels complete

Many here including myself have bought these and are very pleased.
Same great stopping power and virtually NO BRAKE DUST !!!

Definitely go with the Rotex Golds! They WORK!

I don't even pay special attention (whoops!) to the wheels anymore, I just wash them like they're a part of the car. Before I would spend 2-3 hours detailing them only to have them dirty in the next few days

I use purple powder dust off wheel cleaner that I pick up at autozone. No rubbing required! Just spray on and hose off. I use it often to keep the build up down and it is supposed to repell future brake dust collection.

Posi Quiets (Centric) worked wonders on the SRT8...was thinking about those for the '6.
Anyone try these?

I put them on my '05 Roadster Limited and am VERY happy with the lack of grime.

I have them on my '05 Limited Roadster and they work great. No squealing, virtually no dust, and braking performance doesn't seem to be compromised at all. In fact, during my last track day I scared a guy in a Porsche 911 when braking from 125MPH to 35MPH for a 90 degree corner. He later said he was stunned at how quickly my car could stop and that he just couldn't stop as quick, which explained why he went off straight instead of negotiating the corner.

Awesome! I'll have to stop by in Ocala the next time I'm up that way and try out the stuff! It'll be awhile before I change my brake pads to the GOLD.

That's the stuff. I haven't found anything besides a heated pressure washer that works as well.

I called and they sell it only by the gallon. She's finding out what shipping will cost to Illinois. Does anyone know the price for one gallon? Anyone else in Illinois interested to combine shipping?

Popeye,
Do you know if this product contains acid or caustic or anything that would corrode aluminum if the coating is not intact? Let us know if you have any info. on this. Thanks. This might be a great product if there is no chance of damage.

Yes I believe it does. It is not something you should leave on your wheels for more that a couple of minutes even in the diluted form. But to remove that black stuff that gets baked on it works in just a few seconds. Then you rinse it off with water. My method was to take an old washcloth and roll it around a 1/2" dowel rod. Then I sprayed the wash cloth with the wheel cleaner. Then I rubbed it over the baked on black marks and it came off in seconds. So there is no reason you need to "let it soak" so to speak like grease on a baking dish. Just rub this stuff on and the black stuff disappears. Then of course you want to rinse it with lots of water.

I used so little of it to take the baked on stuff off my wheels that you can't tell I even used it. The guy who details for a living says if you spray it on your brake calipers they really shine. I didn't feel comfortable with spraying it with the wheels on, so I went with the conservative approach. Now I have no more black baked on stuff and can clean the wheels like I do the rest of the car...

This is not a cleaning product to be careless with...

Thanks for the reply. The inside of my wheels is a mess. I am going to try a non-aggressive cleaner this weekend. If i can't get them clean I may order some of this. I will be changing to low dust pads soon. Many thanks.

I used 409 cleaner and it removed 98% of the nasty. The black baked on stuff just would not succumb to the 409, but it did to the Wheel Cleaner...
