Default Nameplate Thingy

You know, the thing on the door sills that says "Crossfire"? Sorry, I don't know what it's called so I couldn't search for it. Just wondering the best way to clean it - mine has a bit of rust (?) on it - not sure what the material is...Thanks!

I'm pretty sure it's just a brushed aluminum, so you can try wd-40 on it with a light scouring pad, won't hurt anything. Also naval jelly which is a rust remover with that same household scouring pa, like those 3M pads and it'd be just fine. BTW, it's called a sill plate
