Default Anyone know what this is?

The car was like this when I bought it. It seems like I can scrape it off but i dont want to mess the paint up underneath. Is there anything that I could possibly clean it with? How can I take off the vents?

Look like old wax that someone did not get buff out , Go get a clay bar kit and give your car a good once over than a good wax job , i think this will take care of it for you , clay bar kit is around 20.00

Looks like someone painted the area flat (matte) black then changed their mind.
Silly BLACK Crossifre owners...

The fix?
I suggest a repaint in another color.

Yeah, I dont think its wax due to it only being in that one spot (on both sides). I guess I will have to just tough it out until I get the whole car painted.

It looks like it was wet sanded, but never buffed out in that area. It will probably need to be buffed with some rubbing compound then polished, JMHO.

If you have never used a buffer, stop by a body shop. Maybe they will do a favor. You just never know.

Looks like it was painted with a matte finish or sprayed to highlight it and wet sanded and never finished. Clean it up good, ,you may have to paint that area, then buff it up.
