Default Damn! Paint chipping on roof!

Anyone else noticed the paint chipping away in the "rain channels" on either side of the roof? Mine is showing grey primer for a good half of the channel.. I'll try to get a picture tomorrow.. what can be done?

Repaint or replace, you can buy them new pre painted, or maybe I should say you could.

yep, it happens. Chrysler dealer body shop said if we repaint them we guarantee the paint will not stay on. Bad design use of the trim strip materials. Just paint them on the car and then again, and again. It's a Mercedes Benz black can be purchased at some auto parts stores. Mash it off, sand it smooth, prime it and repaint it. It has to look better than it does now.,

I'm having this exact same problem on my car. Is this an easy DIYer? Or should I let it keep chipping and eventually have it touched up by a body shop, instead of making it look worse by trying to repaint it myself. Anyone else who's dealt with this issue feel free to chime in..

I had the same problem. For more info you can search "roof molding". They are easy to take off, sand and primer and use Mopar original paint colors... really easy. I went another route, I sanded mine down to bare metal, it's silver aluminum metal. I liked that look so I polished them and left them silver to match the window trim - I'll probably paint them one day but for now I like the silver. I'm posting one picture so you can check it out, but if you want to see more go to my gallery..

Nice pic and thanks for the info. I still prefer the stock black roof look, so I'm going to paint mine.
