Default Clay barred and waxed plus a few other things.

Been off the past two days so I tackled a few things on the xfire. Yesterday I worked on the inside of the wheels and the wheel wells. All of them cleaned up almost perfectly except for the front passenger one. It's not too bad but it is not as smooth a finish as the others. Today I clay barred the car and put two coats of wax on her. Here are a few pics, I'm wore out but, it looks goooood.

Thanks guys, I thought the paint looked pretty good but the clay does not lie. I cut the bar in bar in half and after I did the hood, front bumper and the drivers side it was filthy. I used the other half on the other side and it was bad but, not as bad so I figured the front and hood were the worst. The wheels were also pretty bad so I figure that was the first time they had been cleaned. No upcoming shows but, I am planning on some down the road. I am not planning on driving the car in the rain so keeping it looking good should not be to tough. It's just my VOCD.

I just finished using the clay bar on my 2007 Coupe. It's been a couple of years since I used the clay bar and it really made a difference in the finish (always does). Didn't have time to do the whole compound/polish/wax routine on the car, but covered it up right away when I finished "claying". Weather front moving in right now and the remaining detailing will have to wait until next weekend.

Was especially surprised at the result I got along the rocker panels on the XFire. Don't think I ever clayed these before. Just used a good Cleaner/Wax product down there. Anyway, the rocker panels came out "smooth as silk" just like the rest of the car.

Used a technique I saw on the Adam's Premium Car Care Instructional DVD I got at this year's Chrysler Nationals in Carlisle. Took the clay bar & broke a piece off. Then smashed that piece flat on the windshield where I sprayed Meguiar's Quik Detailing. Then started working my way around car with that small piece. Kept folding it back into itself to work the contaminants into the center of the clay bar. Kept the clay bar fresh as I moved around the car.

And I can't say enough about using the clay bar on the windows, headlights, and taillights. All of these areas really came out "crystal clear" once I was finished.

And I found a 32-ounce bottle of Meguiar's Quik Detailing at Pep Boy's this week. Ony a couple of bucks more to get 2X the product. Glad to see Meguiar's offering this and Pep Boy's for carrying it.

Later,
