Intake diameters
I'm currently putting together an intake system for a crossfire I have yet to take delivery of (yes I know, I'm sick). Anyway, I was wondering if someone could tell me the diameter of the stock intake tubing and the diamteter of the cold air duct that runs from the grill.
Thank you in advance.
Thank you in advance.
i getting one designed as we speak the best way is to keep the stock design but the stock one goes from 2 3/4 to 2 1/4 in diameter mine is 2 3/4 all the way i also did mine in chrome tubing i will post pictures when its done
Is this a single pipe or duel pipe intake?
I think you need to be at least 3" to 4" for maximum efficiency (single pipe), otherwise I see no point to making up a homebrew CAI if your just gonna use 2-3/4" plumbing.
The reason for being that large is due to the distance the air travels along the pipe, this will created alot of friction drag in 2 3/4" pipe. And I'm sure you will have several 45-90 degree bends too.
