Default intake silencer???

I was wondering how to remove the intake silencer from my car. I not sure if the Crossfire Roadster even has one.

(I know that most car manufactures install intake silencers to reduce noise).

I am doing this because i want the car to have a little more grunt when i accelerate.

- Pictures/ diagrams please.
- Thanks in advance for the help.

I believe the in take silencer is part of the entire engine cover design, so it's just not gonna happen as easily as you think.

If you want more growl noise you should make your own intake system out of 3'' or 4'' piping and discard the engine cover.

If you do a search there is someone here that has done this and posted pix. Currently I'm working on my own design using 3.5" pipe, and will be a true cold air system. So your on your own right now...

You can not remove the silencers "baffles" from the stock air box, it is built into the plastic.
You can make a new system all together.
I made one and gutted and modified the engine cover to keep a factory look.

This is a fairly good design that gets the ideas flowing, but it can use some improvements which I will be making for my CAI.

I will be getting rid of that OEM 90 degree elbow that hooks up to the throttle body, with a more gradual flowing bent pipes.

Also will be pulling air from under the radiator area, unless I can pull fresh air from elsewhere?

You probably already know this and have allowed for it in your design, but just in case..that 90 degree elbow is the MAF housing so you can't just ditch it. You will have to relocate the MAF.
