just curious to see how many crossfires have done this now. obviously, i'll be first here on the list. i know a bunch of you guys that don't post often probably have done it to, so come out of your shell and tell us!

it is a retuning of the ecu in our cars that will increase your horsepower and torque by about 18 each.

 

Thanks for that info - but is it then some sort of chip-tuning or is it something somebody can do himself? Maybe you can point me to a place where i can obtain detailed information - thx in advance.

Thanks Mike for the link - now i got it right ... dunno if i'll go for a chip-tuning yet (in fact i don´t have my XF QP yet) but if i'll choose Upsolute (i'm - like they - located in Austria so it's logical to go there). Wonder about the result.

 

Got mine in too. Very nice. Don't drive her much in the winter though...NY snow sux. Had it done since Feb.

 

Wow, now there's a ding... I wonder what made him say "I'll Choose Upsolute" when he doesn't even own a Crossfire yet... And Upsolute refused to post any dyno results for their ECU tune about a year ago...

 

yeah, i definitely wouldn't go with upsolute, spend the extra bit of money and just ship it to SI, if you get a crossfire. if i remember correctly, jesse recently trounced upsolute and apr in a gti tuning challenge, with less mods.

 

@ HDDP - nothing to wonder - see what i wrote in brackets - (i'm - like they - located in Austria so it's logical to go there). You may not have thought of it but i'm located in EUROPE. If i would send my ECU to the USA i'd obviously just pay shipping BUT if i get the ECU back from whomever i've to pay shipping, tax and customs - FOR MY OWN ECU !!! So what for you is an easy task would cost me a fortune. With that in mind i think the second choice (if Upsolute is considered as such) is better then paying a lot of money for a (maybe!) better result. Guess you got my point.

@ x´ed - as said to HDDP if there would be a trouble-free and cheap way i would for sure consider it.

Btw - meanwhile my XF QP has arrived ;-) (saphire silver blue, AT, with grey/grey interieur).

Any new SI converts?

 

Installed the SI tuned ECU today. In my opinion, the difference is substantial to say the least! I also have a Borla exhaust and Evosport underdrive pulley kit, and I think these bolt on mods are finally creating some horsepower synergy.

One thing I would like to ask the other SI converts is, did your redline increase at all after the tune? For some reason, the engine is still shifting up at exactly 6,000RPM. I was under the impression that the redline would be raised as well... any comments would be much appreciated.

 

Any track numbers yet?

 

i wish, the closest 1/4 mile to me is 2 hours away and is one of the worst tracks in the country to get good times on (palmdale).

 

I would just like to see hard evidence.

well i have a baseline dyno and a tuned dyno that shows an 18 whp improvement. that's pretty hard evidence. but i doubt i'll ever go to a quarter mile track again, after one NASA event im hooked. i passed an evo 9 pretty nicely in the turns, its fun when it comes down to skill and not the car. but that being said, i don't need any k and n's cuz my lease is up in 3 months and then its time for ME to get an evo 9 rs.
