I'm bought a 2004 crossfire 2 days ago!

But I have a problem, the cut off is 6,000 rpm. Why ??

Is normal ???

Do I have something that I can do something for go at 7,000 rpm ?

Thank you!

I'm not sure why you would want to change that? I believe 6k RPM is redlined, and the cut-off is there to prevent you from over revving and blowing your motor.

Nope. Unless you want to buy a new engine.

You need to learn how to shift it properly, by learning where it puts out the most torque. I've found 1st gear winds up a bit quick when I first drove the crossfire, now it's all normal for me, and can stay ahead of S2000's at a stop all the way up to 4th gear. Yeah I know S2000 has about 20-30 more hp, but that means nothing when your motor has more torque in the lower rev band. It's all about knowing where the sweet spot it.

The rev limit is 6,200.

I was about edit something looks like it got lost in the refresh, hmm weird.

I usually only shift out of 1st at around 3,500 rpm, and go directly into 2nd. Most of the time I never use 1st gear unless going up a hill from a standing start or when driving slow in a parking lot.
The 1st gear is a bit too close to 2nd, maybe a gear swap with an srt6 ring and pinion would help in 1st gears usability.

Do a search for speed innovation, they did a dyno run on a members car and have the dyno graphs posted. That should tell you where you need to be.

I also find the stock clutch is a bit to slippy, making 2nd gear starts a bit high revving until you get use to the clutch. The car could really use a much more grabby clutch.

Also keep an eye out for the 1st gear tsb's on 2004 trannies, they have a tendency to pop out of 1st.

for maximum accel shift at 6k (by the time you shift you will be at the 6.2k limit) for the sole reason that you will land in a better spot in the next gear...

for daily driving shift down low...

sounds good at 6k, no..?

enjoy your Xf .

That's why I love driving my auto XF.
I don't have to think changing gears and/or blowing up my engine... just hit the metal. :-)
Love the sound of the engine at max rpm's!!

just that ... they like to literally pop out of 1st gear in the earlier built xf and there is a trouble shooting bulleting (tsb) on how to repair it that the dealer has access to ... unfortunately chrysler rebuilds manual trannies when the syncros go so hopefully you get lucky with a experienced tech for the job if you need it done.

TSB = Technical Service Bulletin.
With respect to the Crossfire tech's... I do like intenseblu's version though.
