Default Magnaflow Exhaust Sound Clip

Slim emailed me the sound clip of his crossfire with the Magnaflow Exhaust on it. I posted it to supload.com and here it is. Can anyone with a Borla exhaust tell me how it compares?

Wow. I think I'm speechless. I don't know whether I like it or not, but I keep listening to it.
There's something sort of Triumph TR6 about it (IMO).

To 'snappy' for my taste, but hey,... I'm an old guy...

I don't know, it sounds okay for a WRX, but it has too much tin can sound to it. It's not very solid like the stock muffler. Maybe it would sound better behind a V8, Good Try though!!!

For the first few seconds there it sounded like a 2 stroke...

it sounded all right, but it's not worth losing the stock exhaust.

Don't worry, it's not lost.

The old stock exhaust (with all of 2,000 miles on it) is sitting safely on a shelf in my shop !

Cheers,
Cincinnati Slim

p.s. thanks for confirming the TR6 comparison, that's what I thought it sounded like as well !

I'm going to mail a CD of the whole
test drive to Magnaflow to see if they want to put it up on their website.

It's almost eight minutes of 48k audio in a 39meg .wav file !

A little too big for most e-mail servers...

I'm not surprised, stuff under the car gets crusty pretty quick. My nuts were stainless but the bolts were not. Get some stainless metric bolts and nuts w/lock washers. Smear on some silver Lock-Tite "anti-seize" goop on the exposed threads. That way you can unbolt stuff in the future if you need to.

Fino, thanks for posting the audio clip link !
