They are different. At least from the pair of cats under the seats back. SRT6 has a different muffler and an AMG resonator.

I am going to dyno my SRT next week and I will be borrowing a video camera from a friend so I hope to have a sound clip op on You Tube soon.

Will this be a baseline dyno, or after the pulley kit?
Do you plan to do a pre-SL55 kit run also?

Pre pulley/ECU Tune -- Post SL55 intake.

I don't see the need to see where the SRT6 was bone stock - plenty of references for that.

1) A few members asked to see the gains that the SL55 intake provides

2) I want a baseline prior to installing the pulley.

3) Provide a sound clip with resonator removed.

Kill three birds with one stone.

The Corvette tuner has a Dyno Jet 224-X.

Monday - Tuesday or Wednsday, just depends on availibility. The shop is only 5 miles from my work and the tuner is busy with corvettes and leaves for vacation after Wed but he said he would work me in, I just have to be willing to get there pronto when he calls.

I guess a lot of lucky guys got Superchargers for Xmas as this shop installs a boatload of them. One on the dyno and three in the shop bays. I never seen so many Vettes - the one on the dyno when I was there pulled 560RWHP. I Know to shy from that one if challenged.

Subscribing, simply because that is the most beautiful exhaust work I've seen on the SRT-6.

When I get mine this will definitely be on the to-do list.

Those were the only two pieces of material used. Just a welder, grinder and cut off saw for tools. No torch. You Might get a better price from Burns now that they have made a prototype.

.
I forgot, the SRT6 has a different exhaust than the Limited, that explains why you don't have an oval pipe on passanger side.

Brian,

Just wanted to extend thanks again for taking the time to post all of the details on this.

Warm weather is here again, time to start driving her again, and strongly considering having this done.

No Problem Denver - I enjoy sharing my mods (good and bad) with forum members - PM me if you have any questions.

Just removed my resonator today. The sound is so much better and even at interstate speeds it does not have a loud drone. I just had a local shop do it I figure late I might order the parts for a more professional look. Only cost 125 worth every penny. Thanks to everyone for the info and feedback on this mod.

I met a guy with a SLK32 this week and took him for a ride - he liked the sound so much he's going to order the same parts and have it installed on his ride...

brian tell your friend the sound will be different!!! the srt-6 has the easy exhaust!! straight out the back. the area were the slk32 muffler is is roughly 12" x12" its a very compact area. with the res and sec. cat delete the exhust note on mine was ricer loud with a prominent drone at 2000rpm(approx 60 mph) i went with the ansa and heavily modded it to get it to fit with out 6" of tips sticking out the back. results were dismal... obnoxious loud and hits the suspension resulting in a constant vibration!!! took it off and reinstalled the amg muffler with a magnaflow x pipe in place of the h pipe.
ahhhh refined aorund town quiet when it needs and roars when stepped on hard!!!! the drone is all but gone , a small bit around 70mph but im loving it!!!
tried to get a true dual in but no muffler and a 5" opening between the suspension and trunk area killed the idea!

good luck!

added note.. i feel the power i did gain was from the sec. cat delete. the resonator is a flow thru and doesnt really restrict

Mike, you may haved bumped this for me last NOV....but I didn't see until now. Thanks Brian for answering this old question or I still wouldn't have seen this. Are the parts still available, Brian? I see this was done a long time ago. An update would be great. This is the right way to do the delete for sure. I'll probably do the coupe and leave the roadster as it is. Thanks, Mike and especially Brian for posting this.....

Thanks for the heads up. I will pass this info along. We both thought that since we shared engines etc... good to know stuff

I'm sure Burns just fabs the Y-Pipe to order and the U-Bend is a stock order part.

BTW - It looks like the part numbers have changed a bit.
