Default Custom Magnaflow or Crossfire Magnaflow cat back system?

Guys I ran into a dilemma and need you opinion. My current custom Magnaflow system cost was $150 and its 10lb. lighter than the famous $400 plus Magnaflow cat-back system. Now I own then both so the choice is keep the current one or switch to the pretty expensive one. Are there performance differences? Hard to tell. Please se my page and pictures and enlighten me if you can. Thanks for helping.

How about getting a Dyno done, that'll sum up which one is better.

Also, sound clips would be good for both.

Power and sound; those are going to be the main questions

Hi,

It looks like your custom set-up still kept the single pipe into two pipe design. If that's correct you will not notice any significant difference in just a muffler change, which is essentially waht you would be doing. If you were to add larger diameter pipe or run duals that's a whole different story.
I personally think the Magnaflow is a great product, but with what you have I'd suggest keeping it.

Thanks,
Anthony

If someone who knows how to post picture will send me their email address, I'll return pictures of my custom dual exhaust system. The entire job cost me $169.

yo just send it to me pbsuperti@cc.usu.edu

But yeah dual pipes is a good option but I'm having bad luck with good shops on this military towns. So how does it go guys? From the 2 oxigen sensors... what size pipes and will that chrome magnaflow still work? Because it is two mufflers attached to each other, but with some what small inlets.

Cool, but 1- the outlets and pipes on the catalytic converters start out small so does it make a difference to run bigger dual pipes?
2- what are he improvements?
3- how is this different than 1 bigger pipe (say I put 3 inch pipe) from the y pipe back to the muffler?
4- What do you think of my question from before will my new magnaflow still work? Because it has small inlets.
Sorry but I really want to know because this will be my 2nd time paying wit the exaust system.

I believe they are 2 1/2 inch dia. and the dual custom pipes are the same.

I don't believe larger pipes would make much difference but that is a tough question to answer without testing.

The improvements are theoretical and what I believe is improved higher RPM horsepower. It is a seat of your pants measurement but not too reliable for true measurement. The gas mileage is definitely improved over the factory specs. I proved that over 15,000 kilometer trip last year.

The sound is definitely better over factory but that was somewhat of a 'no brainer'.
