Crossfire G35
lol. You can't make a car sound like another car with exhaust, a crossfire will sound like a crossfire, period. But one piece of good news is our cars sound really really good with exhausts on them.
step 1: purchase a g35
step 2: remove engine and transmission and ecu
step 3: install g35 engine and transmission and ecu into crossfire
step 3: install g35 exhaust in crossfire
step 4: wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
it is a very simple swap, it should not take you any longer than around 25-30 minutes. you will need a flat head screwdriver, a pair of pliers and some black electrical tape for the install.

You won't be able to duplicate the sound of the Infiniti/Nissan, but you can make an auditory difference with your car that you might find more to your liking. Many in this forum have found one of the cat back systems to be the answer.
The Infiniti/Nissan have their distinctive sound, (as most cars do) mostly due to the overall package of engine accessories, engine size and the mechanical configuration of the engine itself. The infinity exhaust, even if duplicated and mounted in it's entirety to your car would still sound like a 3.2 Mercedes when you were through.

go to you tube, stacks of people have posted vids of their exhaust. copy the one you like.
in all honestly, the crossfire will sound better, so stop thinking about making your car sound "like" another. your car will sound insane if you get the right setup.
for me i deleted two of the cats and had a custom muffler made as i have never been too happy with the sounds of the other mufflers.

I love the sound of my SRT-6. Especially with a NeedsWings intake. I have a friend with a G35 who also prefers the sound of my car over his. Last summer when I had an 04 coupe I was drivng my friends G35 for a day and was letting my bro drive the Xfire for a week since I had just bought the SRT-6. While driving the G35 I ran into him and his wife in my Crossfire. When we were side by side he punched it for a few seconds, That was the first time I heard my car from outside of it. I was very impressed with it as well. Even the NA Crossfire sounded better than the G35 imo.

It is sort of ricey to try and make a car sound like another car. Why didn't you purchase a g35 instead of a crossfire since you are so hooked on them? Do you have any performance mods in mind for your car or are you going to load it up with stereo equipment and 24" pimp wheels?
If you want to make your car louder or "sound" faster just hacksaw off the muffler or drill holes in it lol.

You could also remove the resonator. There are a bunch of threads that you can search for, some with step by step procedures & pics. Rumor has it that any Midas shop will do the job for $100-$150.
But, honesty, Ta, it's kind of a silly question. I mean, you could've expected the razzing; at least it's all in good humor
. Every car's sound is unique, like your fingerprints. You'll just have to experiment to see what suits your ears the best.
Good luck!!

I personally think they sound kind of wimpy to be honest. Way to high pitched. It has a growl but to high pitched.
TaReGt, it's theoretically possible to duplicate the G35's sound, but it would probably cost you thousands and thousands of dollars of research in accoustical "tuning" to attain your desired result. (sort of like the Blue Man Group and PVC pipe, but on a much larger scale)
Dodge spent countless hours working on the sound the SRT Vipers side exhaust make.
Likewise most all the Japanese motorcycle manufactures have probably spent millions in R & D trying to copy the Harley Davidson's unique sound, and they must have got awful close. Because even though H.D. swears nothing else sounds quite like a Harley, they've even tried to patent the sound their V twin makes.
It's been suggested that you listen to YouTube videos of different types of exhaust systems, I think that's the best advice. Good Luck.

There are more G35s and 350Zs in my area than you can shake a stick at and I've always sort of been a tad envious of their exhaust note. I can hear them very clearly from my Roadster with the top down and have, almost, lusted after that sound.
I installed the Magnaflow cat back system on my car over Memorial Day weekend and I love it. The sound is actually deeper and more throaty than the G35s I so often happen upon and now those sound a bit too metallic to me.

I've seen Crossfires that sound closer to an R32 than the G35 with the right exhaust mods. To have the G35 sound simply will not happen. Keep in mind the G35 revs past 7000rpm while the Crossfire goes to about 6,000 rpm, which will further make your life difficult in your quest to have your car sound like a G.
