Default clockwise?

I read somewhere that this engine runs in a counter clockwise direction. Is this correct?

Only in the northern hemisphere ( north of the equator). In the southern hemisphere ( south of the equator) it runs clockwise. Just like water going down the drain. Our forum members in Australia put their Crossfires in drive to back up and in reverse to go forward.

Seriously ZERACER, I'm curious as to why you need to know, and would that be observing the engine from the front or the rear. Couldn't you just observe the crank pulley while the engine is running?

Sorry about the above post, sometimes I just can't help myself.

I guess I was just to lazy to look and thought someone might know. It would be from the front, facing the engine of course. I'll fire it up and check it out. I was just wondering if what I read was true.

I went out and fired mine up to check. When I bent over to look at the crank pulley my tie got caught in the belt and jerked me down to whack my head on the SC. Now I cant remember why I went out to the car!!!

Oh yeah.... the crank shaft turns CW!
