If I eliminated the second set of cats, would i gain anything?

I'd be careful about hacking up your exhaust. Massachusetts is changing some of the State inspection as of Oct.1 . I'm not sure if you would still pass it or not but just something you might want to find out about before you do.

 

The O2 sensors are after the first set of cats. As far as the computer is concerned, the second pair doesn't exist. Besides, I'm going to flange the pipe so I can put the cats on if I ever need them on.

My uncle owns the dealer that my dad bought the car from, and we know the crossfire trained tech personally, so he touches what we want to be touched... and that sounded dirty, but y'all knew what I meant haha.

 

Removing the rear cats gives it a little more sound which seems just about right and of course freer flowing exhaust helps with just a little more hp.

 

By eliminating the cats something must be set in place... I recommend some dogs. Greyhounds are very fast.

 

I was always under the impression that this change to the exhaust would only result in sound and or maybe a bit of lost power because the c32 (m112k) guys have done this w/ little to no positive results. Then recently a c55 owner (m113) removed his secondary cats and got some good power:

I figure, the m112 folks would benefit in the same fashion (w/ 25% less gain though) because we have no requirements for forced induction like those of the m113k and m112k. I dunno. Seems like a pretty affordable lil change that could get us NA guys some more oomph.
