Sounds great. No increase in power, but it feels like it.

$350 + shipping. Do a search on "Magnaflow".

My 2 cents:

Forum price= Excellent
Ease of install= Not too bad
Sound: Outside of car= Excellent
Sound: Inside of car= WAY TOO LOUD.....for me.
In a nutshell: Heavy drone @ 2k-2.5k some can take it, others can't.

I pulled the system off the next day after about a 60 mile, mixed driving ride and happily resold to a member here who loves it.

Some say it mellows with age, honestly I don't think the drone would ever cease.
I knew I had made the wrong choice (for me) before I even left the driveway.

I'm not the only one who thinks this way, but we are the odd men out.

Most people here love them.

If at all possible, take a ride in a Crossfire that has this sytem installed and judge for yourself.

Peace
Paul

I am one of the people that love it. Although there is a drone from the inside. I only really notice it at higher speeds on the freeway. My radio/CD player is not affected at all. I can still hear just as clearly as if there were no drone.

Anyway I love it!

Sounds just like my car with the cats and resonator removed.

I love mine. The only time there is any drone at all is when cruising at speed and you every so slightly tip into the throttle, but even then it's not bad at all. My car is a roadster and I was discussing this with my wife recently, at 80mph on the freeway with the top up. We were conversing in normal tones, no problem. She said she didn't notice anything even slightly irritating, loud or otherwise obtrusive. And I know the roadster has more wind noise than the coupe and would be more prone to letting in exhaust noise.

The exhaust tone is also different if you lug the engine a bit, say moving in slow and go traffic and you didn't bother downshifting to second from third and now are accelerating moderately from maybe 1500rpm.

Other than that, in 99% of driving, it sounds fantastic.

Got Mine A Year Ago, I Feel It Was The Best Early Mod Done To My Car. It Makes A Sports Car Sound Like A Sports Car Should Sound. As Far As Power Gain, You Will Not Notice Much Difference Until You Start Making Other H. P. Mods, Cai, Injectors. Chip Ets.

Are you saying that you can get the muffler without the end caps? ALso is this muffler a simple bolt on? Is the primary reason for this muffler mod a sound benefit or are there performance gains to be had?

Thanks

Nate

The Magnaflow 16633 SS Cat-back that many have purchased for $350 (Forum Group Buy) has two straight through stainless steel mufflers welded together with a great polished oval tip on each muffler. It comes in two pieces and is a direct bolt on using existing bolts and hangers. Therefore, you can save the OEM setup to return the car to original in the future, or sell it as a complete OEM cat-back exhaust. I installed mine in about an hour, and it looks and sounds great. Yes, a few have decided that it is louder than they wanted, but most like the sound. If you install one, some of the tips you can find on here by doing a search will help. I used an exhaust donut stretcher tool that helped significantly in the removal of the OEM exhaust. I also used a long zip-tie to pull the muffler rubber hangers together. That keeps the hangers from slipping off. I also, put 3/8” hose clamp on the end of the passenger side muffler hanger to make double sure. Some on here have had trouble with that side slipping off. Both the zip-tie and hose clamp have been suggested by Forum members if you do a search.
By the way, the Magnaflow 16633 is still available for $350. Just call wUnderCarParts (1-888-986-3373) and ask for the Crossfire Forum deal. Here’s a link to the product info:

THanks,

So I am getting very interested but would love to hear a comparison of before and after, has anyone done this with a youtube on our cars.

Second the $729 price tag is quite expensive, but if we can get em for 350 that is a ton better.

THird anyone in the orlando area ridin with a magnaflow? I would love to hear it in person.

Thanks

Nate

Do some searching for sound clips. However, I don't think that any of them really give true sound. But, gives some comparison.
The $729 is the Magnaflow 16633 retail price. You can find them on-line for around $500 and many places will deal. The $350 WunderCarParts Forum deal is as good as I have seen (plus some shipping costs).
Yes, I would suggest you find one that you can hear in person. It really depends on the sound and look that you want. I don't think that you are going to see much performance change even though Magnaflow states that there is?

Thanks,

I like the stock sound but would like a tad more. I dont like too much rumble when driving however because I already ride a loud bike! LOL!

But do sometimes wish the exhuast note was a tad more pronounced.

THe magnas seem to have a very pronounced note.

Talking Re: magnaflow catback exhaust

Bought mine a year ago and couldn't be happier. I was worried at first that it might be too loud (I have a C5 Corvette w/a Magnaflow and that thing is a roaring beast!), but my boyfriend reassured me it would be fine...and he was right! It's the perfect amount of "purrr" and I did notice a decent increase in gas mileage and HP. Magnaflow had it as "Make an Offer" on their website last year. I offered $450 and they accepted! Hopefully they do that option again!

Highly recommended for sure. You really can't go wrong with the quality of Magnaflow exhaust! The boyfriend and I have them on all 6 of our cars!

No, I read that perfectly...apparently I need to read what I write before I post. I offered $350.00 and they accepted...that was in January 2008, and I thought that was a smokin' deal. I was merely referring to the nice "make an offer" feature on the Magnaflow website. That's awesome if you can get them for that cheap now!

If you want a really nice sound without droaning, you should also consider the Ansa. I have had mine going on two years and everyone on this forum that has installed it loves it.

Ok I have done homework and am looking heavily into the exhaust. I have watched all the videos on youtube but we all know videos don't really do much justice when it comes to sound clarity. In the honest opinion of the people that have the kit if you could go back and buy the kit would you do it again? I want the sound of a sporty car not the sound that some punk is gonna pull up next to me in a civic and give me the thumbs up. Please don't be to harsh.
Thanks
