well no but you know that ricer ,pop pop pop sound, but then i have never liked the bmw exhaust sound,,, my wife's 6 cyl stock mustang sounds better than any bmw i have ever heard, except one and it was open headers now that is a sound or was that a amc v8 in a bmw ! jim

My Magnaflow sounds 1000 times better to my ear than that BMW did.

 

Not my cup of tea either, perhaps even one of the worst sounding cars I have ever heard. To each his/her own though.

Oh, and I should probably add that I'm not a fan of that particular exhaust on the M5. Plenty of those cars around here and the stock exhaust sounds beautiful. When that engine runs to the redline at 7700rpm it sounds like an old F1 car. Just beautiful.

Not the sound for me either. Also it really puzzles me that crossfire members here warn others that the magnaflow muffler is a bit to loud and creates horrible cabin drone,then another member puts one under their car just to varify the complaint???? I've yet to here a better sounding SRT-6 than mine. I guess you would say that's bragging,What Ever! I don't have a digital camera or sound montering equipment. Maybe there's another member in Charlotte,NC that can record mine. Charlotte has LOT's of Crossfires running all over this city. I changed out my two rear cat's with HushPower II shortie resonators. They are 2 1/2" polished 304 stainless steel with a non adjustable cone tuner. There flow rated for up to 400 HP. Part No. 12512300. After the resonators,the dual pipes join into a stainless Y-pipe. Part No. Magnaflow 10778. Dumped the factory resonator then tied into our factory muffler with 3" pipe. Not sure what the N/A Crossfires would sound like,but this setup will make a SRT-6 sound Sooooo Good. Squirrel Crusher

 

lol well that didn't go to well, I'm a big fan of the raspy, F1 sound. Personaly I love the BMW sound, I used to have a E46 330i with a supersprint exhaust and it was music to my ears. but like a few of you have said each to there own.


by the way Squirrel Crusher your set up sounds really good, shame you cant record it!

well, having grown up with dirt bikes, 2-cycle engine, then later, 900cc street and road bikes with tuned exhaust, I like that sound, its just unusual to hear that cracking sound on a car...my old Chevy's would never sound like that, but in a way, I like that sound, if were always racing it...wouldn't be good for everyday I don't imagine...each to his own...OH, I wouldn't let anyone rap my engine like that idiot did...but its his v10...

 

Yes, a much better sound clip. Car sound damn powerful, but just a little to tinny sounding for me.

Sounds like a bug....There was a mosquitoes in my room today, sounded JUST LIKE that!!!!! LOL JK..... But, I too prefer the deeper tones.

 

lol pass on both videos... sounds just toooo high pitched. Rather have something like an open pipes 455... Or even something like our grand national, where you can hear the spool up on the turbo with a pretty low power growl... lol then again im also not a beemer fan.
