Ansa Muffler for Crossfire - Group Buy

edited 12/2 : No longer considered a group buy - 10 available soon

Guys and Gals,

Here is the deal. I have been working with my friend Paul at Ansa to see if we can get some more of these mufflers for the forum members and it looks as if we may have a good possibility! However here are the criteria for the group buy as the dollar has weakened against the euro (I just got us a better deal and a few more $ shaved off but this is the best it will be for us) :

10 unit minimum group-buy
$212 per unit plus shipping (approx $17-$25 depending on location)

My first priority is to determine if there is enough interest and commitment to purchase these so that we can work out the details for payment and shipping. Given that we are in the winter months and I am sure that several of you are looking for something to do on your cars, so getting a commitment on these is our first priority which will allow me to give Ansa the go ahead to get these shipped from Italy. So here is what we need to do next to proceed:

- Reply to this thread if you are willing to commit to a purchase
- Shipping time will be about 6-8 weeks from when I give ANSA the go ahead (they ship by container from Italy)
- Payments will likely be to me and I will ship the mufflers to each of you.
- Payment details will likely be via check as PayPal fees add up (approx 8 bucks), but we can finalize details after we determine the critical mass for these units.

For those of you interested in more on the Ansa sound, results and installation see the posts below.

I wanted to get this option out to all of you that may have missed out on the last lot that Ansa had in the US.

Nate

Here is the Ansa list:
1. Rapps
2. Erzer

Well I must say that I am quite surprised that after all that I have seen that there is not more interest in the ansa muffler.

Well I guess I did a bit of work for us for nothing. I had thought that there were a number of pople that did want to make this muffler swap.

I guess I stand corrected but I had hoped that this would be of interest for you all.

Thanks

Nate

Nate count me in! I've got a Viper to compete with now, ouch at least an Ansa will "sound" like more HP if I really give it the gas, ha ha.

Do you guys know if the Magnaflow 16633 tips are available seperate? Those would look great on the Ansi muffler.

Hopefully there will be a chance to hear a Borla, ANSA, and Magnaflow side by side so I can hear the difference. Depending on that, I may be interested in joining in this buy.

re: Ansa Muffler for Crossfire - Group Buy

I can tell you I have heard the Ansa and the Magnafow catback side by side and they are nearly identical.
The Magnaflow tips are a larger diameter and won't fit on the Ansa muffler although our OEM tips are exactly the same diameter and distance apart.
I have never heard the Borla.

From what I understand, it's even milder than the Ansa. Some consider it not even worth the purchase... a cat-delete would probably yield the same sound because the Borla system adds an extra resonator that none of the other kits offer.

Thanks, that is the first I've heard that assessment. And thanks to you too VALK. I would still would like to hear to make sure.

Surely there is a Borla owner out there that can chime in.

Eric,
You will probably have your chance to hear em all at the Dragon.
I'm sure with the amount of Crossfires coming you will hear one of each.

I thought these were no longer available....

IMO, I think the Ansa and the Magnaflow sound pretty much the same.

Apparently the US had no more in stock but if there is enough interest they are still in Italy and a shipment can be made to the US if the order qty. is large enough.

Just my guess here.
nate_man is this correct ??

I don't believe there is a better muffler for the Crossfire than the Anza. I have been running one for almost two years now and love it. It sounds almost exactly like the Magnaflow but without the drone. I have since added my stock tips. If you guys have a chance to get your hands on these, you should jump on it. I thought they were gone for good.

Correct Valk.

These were a muffller that was used for the vettes and they were no longer carrying them in the US. I spoke with my friend Paul and he is willing to work someting out for us. If we can get at least 10 we will be able to get them shipped from Italy where they still have some available.

They are doing this as a favor for us as Paul is really a good guy and would like to support our desires to have an Ansa on our cars.

To be honest we did a bit of work to try and make this happen and have been able to keep the price close to what it was given the exchange rate. I am just surprised that no one is really jumping on this.

I only have one person that has committed at this point.

Thanks

Nate

What is the time line you are looking to finalize the number?

is there an Ansa for the SRT?

Should work just fine on an SRT, The muffler shop woould just make a different pipe if you want to delete the existing resonator.

Nate, keep in mind there is a $20 GB fee by the forum owner. You might want to spread that among the buyers.

Actually the SRT has a larger diameter pipe and the Ansa may be to restrictive.
Punkin here on the forum got one and couldn't use it on his SRT so he sold it to me.

What do you mean?

I am doing this to help out the forum folk that wanted to buy an ansa. THere had seemed to be a bit of interest in these an I worked with my buddy Paul to try and make these available for the forum owners. This is not a money making opportunity for me. As a matter of fact I am not making any money. This took a bit of work to just make this possible for the forum. I just wanted to help out. Isnt that what we do on here?

Is this a fee for each muffler? What is this fee for? I am just trying to help out. If we had enough interest then we can get Ansa to bring in at least 10 mufflers for us.

BTW all I have been on the road so I havent had the chance to respond sorry...

The sooner we finalize the sooner we can get em ordered which by boat takes a few weeks 4-8 depending on the pirates on the ocean :)

Nate, I understand. This is not my rule. If you want it waived, please contact Mightyjlr. Right now there is a $20 GB fee. It's not per muffler. It's for the whole GB. You might want to read the classified forum guidelines. This was something that came about with the new forum sponsorships.

GROUP BUYS & GROUP DISCOUNTS

Their will be a $20 charge to post a group buy or group discount unless you are a Commercial Sponsor or Super Commercial Sponsor. If you have not bought a commercial sponsorship, you can post a group buy, but it will not show up on the forum until you go to the link below and choose the "Purchase Group Buy or Group Discount Post". This is a one time charge, but you must pay the fee for each separate group buy you do. This is to make it fair to those vendors who have sponsored the site.

I only brought it to your attention so you would not be caught by surprise.

Thanks,

Erzer thanks. I will add you to the list.

For the rest of the forum is this it crossfire forum team?

I did a bit of work to make this happen for the forum and had hoped that this would be a good thing for you all. We need about ten to get them ordered and I had hoped that you all would have jumped at this.

Let me know if I am not getting the word out for enough people and there isnt anything in this for me as I am just trying to help out the forum.

So if you all are interested, please let me know!

Thanks!!

I think it is more that people were preparing for the dragon and in some cases money could be a concern with both the holidays coming up and the economy. Hopefully the supplier can understand that and have a bit of patience with keeping the deal around; for me, I'm in no great hurry so hopefully you are successful in making them understand.

Well its kinda cool to see what Lantana had to say about the Ansa in his latest post on his V8 upgrade!

Sorry nate_man, but there just doesn't seem to be the interest either of us were hoping for so I'm going to begin looking elsewhere and let you know if I find anything so you can adjust your list...if it even get's any longer.

Yes I too am quite surprised as well. This took a bit of negotiating for the forum and I may have misread the interest. Oh well. I tried. I told Ann to go after that person that posted theirs since the interest was pretty low and I certainly didnt wan them missing out.

Thanks for your interest and I will let you know what I hear back from Ansa.

THanks,

Nate
