New Spark plugs, New car!
I changed my spark plugs last Friday with NGK Iridium plugs. I didn't think it would change anything but man was i wrong. I swear the car is completely different now, tons of power and doesn't slightly plateau at 4k like before. The old plugs looked fine, a little brown but good. One thing i did notice was the old plugs had a larger gapping then the iridium.
[quote=RMADERMAN]Same. When the engine was out I had them change the plugs. Definitely a difference in power. Even Ashley agrees.
you had your engine out.....missed that...I have the plugs, just need to get her done alone with a host of other mods to put on.....come on good weather...get me in the mood...

I installed these as well and will agree. The difference is noticable.

NGK says the Iridium plugs are not an option for our cars. Would the Laser Platinum plugs be a better choice?

Me and my buddy were actually joking about how the hell the MB techs changed the plugs, cause they are a major ***** to reach and remove, and he jokingly said maybe they pull the motor. lol

3. Gapping
Since the gap size has a direct affect on the spark plug's tip temperature
and on the voltage necessary to ionize (light) the air/fuel mixture, careful attention is required. While it is a popular misconception that plugs are pre-gapped from the factory, the fact remains that the gap must be adjusted for the vehicle that the spark plug is intended for. Those with modified engines must remember that a modified engine with higher compression or forced induction will typically require a smaller gap settings (to ensure ignitability
in these denser air/fuel mixtures). As a rule, the more power you are making, the smaller the gap you will need.
Call me old fashion, but I will check and gap mine....lol
I pulled the stockers out cleaned and regapped them to 34 ( i think) last Oct. before heading to the track. I think it made a difference, atleast lowering the gap should have helped.
