Talking New intake installed... it ROCKS!!!

Since the girlfriend was occupied with the books this evening, I figured I'd take advantage of it. Installed the Benz intake this evening... Hardest part was removing the confounded "silencer boxes" or whatever they are in the path of the intake (either side of the radiator). After much tugging and several bloody knuckles, they finally moved out of the way.

Installing the intake was a snap. Line up the hole with the MAF, line up the oil cap, and seat the intake on the little rubber grommets. Done.

Intake tubes were painfully simple. Insert, tighten band clamps, done.

I'm pretty stoked with the results.

Looking Good man. Nice clean job.

Better close the hood before it is covered in yellow pollen dust though. Cheers

As I stated above, that engine cover looks awesome. Can someone provide a MB part number or VIN that would fit the Crossfire? Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks, James

Thanks so much everyone. It took about three days to get the paint right... one layer/color at a time.

I think the forum hiccupped a little tonight... James' second post should actually be ahead of my first response...

NOW I'll have something to show off when I pop the hood at the next Cars N Coffee...

Oh yeah, I like.
So this was all black before you sprayed it? Did you use spray bombs or professionals?
I am not to fond of the OEM look, this is definitely a good option.

How much did this cost/where did you get it? What modification was required to get it installed?

Hahaha she's a looker, isn't she? I'm a blessed man, that's for sure. Marriage isn't too far down the road. To put it another way, her ring will come before my planned wheel upgrade.

Thank you SOOOO much everyone for the awesome feedback. As for where/how to get it, TVT sells the package but they're no longer on this site. I don't have a dog in that fight, so I'm not getting in the middle of it.

BUT, an alternative is parts.com

That's where I sourced my front shroud, and it arrived perfectly in two/three days.

Exhaust shop could EASILY fab up the front pipes for you. It's simple 3" aluminum.

My car is slowly "learning" it has extra air. Each day it seems to run a bit faster. I also did throttle-reset mod to truly let it learn from scratch.

And inferno, you're absolutely right. More greatness to come...

Stay tuned fellas.
