Thumbs up MB airbox painted and installed. Awesome!

Definitely an improvement. Now I need to find the front cover piece for a decent price.

Look very good! I have seen the front part on Ebay sometimes and you can also try Potomac German Auto. They are about the largest MB junk yard I know of.

Thanks for the advice! I think I may wait though. I have saggy hoodliner syndrome. I think it would end up rubbing the paint off as it already rubs the one corner of the airbox already. I'm dirt poor right now and don't know if I can spend the money on a sturdy aftermarket one. I would like having one with a print on it.

Looks great man! For the part number for the front piece, just check a few of my most recent threads from when I installed mine.

Oh, how do you like the added throttle response?

I like it! Classier looking than the OEM part. And you get added throttle response?

The front cover from MB is $127. The air cleaner section was over $300. I checked before I found a complete assy used, which should arrive anyday.

Looks great, but two others have stole my idea for the paint style, what am I going to do now? I was going with red that matched the car, and red or black tubes.

I got mine for $105 shipped, from parts.com (front shroud)

And you can still do that mod my friend, classy mods never get played out

It feels like a beast compared to before and its definitely louder. I've had the airbox on now for a few weeks but just finally painted it yesterday. It takes a while for the car to get used to it and the more I drive it the punchier it gets. I took my buddy for a hell run in it last night and it really woke it. It puts you back in your seat pretty hard especially from a stop. It woke it up at speed also.

I'd hate to spend $100+ on the front cover as I only spent $50 on the air box itself. I need to fix my hoodliner first also so it doesn't mar the paint. I think it looks cool enough right now!
