Smile New to the Game!!

Ok, so today I just got my very first SRT6 and I'm not quit sure on what the first move is reguarding aftermarketing. I will love to eventually put the whole needswings.com's setup of the dual-intake and manifolds on. An exhaust and a bunch of other stuff too. But i really want to just start with an exhaust system first. Which one is the best??? (Best, as in: increasing flow, sound, and HP increase)

needwings, well, i say needshelp...

generally the most "accepted" route for improving performance seems to be:

Intake
Pulley (if 178 or code3)
Engine tune
NW mani's (engine WILL need retuned, do at the same time as tune if you can)
Downpipes/cat removal

Other goodies that should be sprawled throughout as needed:
Supercooler
Intercooler seperation kit
Meth injection
Valve covers(might as well get them teflon coated if they start leaking)
Modified Throttle body
Modified Thermostat
Blue top transmission solenoids (I have no clue where to source these, someone chime in?)
Resonator removal or full catback setup
Upgraded Turn signal blinker fluid
Drag Radial setup
LSD (if we can get it going...which we need....jab to everyone reading this, you know you wanna.....)
Nitrous
Pulley saver kit
Gauges (common being wideband afr, iat, boost, egt, oil pressure, 02)...or just get a zeixtronix zt-2
POSSIBLY woody might have a crossover design for some people to try on their mani's....I know i'll be one of them.

This car is proven in for the 11's with a good driver and a good engine tune. Take your time, do it right, and measure 182329108 times...cut 1/2...then measure a few more times, then finish the cut.

On the other hand, if you just wanted the nicer sound first off.....delete the resonator and possibly secondary cats 'n' call it good

I will definately keep all of this in mind.

On the other hand, can you tell me more about needswings and how i go about getting my SRT6 outfitted with their products? Example: Do i drive/ship my car to them and they do it themselves? Or do i have them ship me the parts and i have a local mechanic do it?

Thnx

Brian sounds like a pro. Nice Job. Rob will help you along every step. He has proven parts and a great recommendation for a tuner. Don't stray from his proven setup. If it's not on his site, then it's not the safest and best available for this car. You can see all my videos on youtube running 11's. It's proven and it's easier to tell you what I have stock. Stock exhaust fully intact, stock plugs, wires, stock cooling system, with a bosch pump. Look at my parts list that I have on my link below. It all depends on how fast you want to be, and how much money you want to spend. Don't accept imitations. Get familiar with your car and install the mods yourself. This is car really easy to work on and under no circumstances does this car deserve to be modified like some civic with meth or nos. Show it some respect.

Nope, the dealer told me i needed it They only charged me $85 dollars.

But yeah, we have fun here, and the get-togethers are even more fun. As far as the dual exhaust, I haven't seen the Eurocharged setup in person, but I'll tell you they're a stand-up company, also with proven results. But as I said, before the exhaust happens you'd be better off on the money to horsepower ration going with a CAI first. Exhaust modifications will generally be more beneficial as your car gets faster.....unless you just want the sexy sound.

PS - Cruzin, I'm no expert, I still just want your mani's....guess i'll find out sometime this week if my offer made the cut

We prefer going with gutted secondary cats, resonator removal, and gutted stock muffler for the SRT6. We've done a bunch of dual systems, but the above system is a perfect mix of looks, sound, and performance!

Letting the OP know what we use on our cars is not really promoting anything. We'll stick to showing off the cars we've done. So we don't get caught in the middle of one of the bigger companies and their childish groupies trying to play internet tough guy .

Back on topic. If you want Needswings parts, contact Rob direct. I'm sure he can fab you up something custom to go with a package.

Do you guys really remove the cats on street driven XF's?

Many, especially the SRT guys, have deleted the secondary cats, better sound and flow, but from what I have heard, not in your face loud.

Not on the SRT.......

The tube diameter is smaller on the 16633 than the stock SRT tube.

Childish groupies? Hardly. Giving opinions on products and their quality, performance, price, and company support is something different altogether.
I didn't bash any one company in my post, albeit I may have shown some preference towards needswings, but that is due to my opinion of the three main retailers the crossfire has, TVT, NeedsWings, and Eurocharged. I haven't gotten to work with EC but the opinions from most members that have are amazing, so they also get a thumbs up in my book. NW is just the rabbit that got plucked out of the hat first, and I prefer to only have one sticker on my car

My post has nothing to do with anyone that has posted in this thread, especially not you. And for the record we probably call Rob as much as any member on here, well maybe not Waldig... He is just full of knowledge and his products are top notch!
