Default engine speeds

curious what everyone elses engine idles at. mine seems to hang around 500rpm when in drive, and 700 when in neutral or park. it just seems very low and it sounds like a diesel clunk when its that low...thanks in advance for your input.

Mine seems the same, but as Tom said, no Clunk!, I also thought it was low but it runs great.

I can't say that it isn't running well. It definitely seems to be for 1500 away from 100k. It just seems to have an unpleasant idle. I will be around a bunch of other XFi's this weekend so I can pay attention to theirs to see how they sound. When I say clunk, its not a loud obnoxious diesel clunk, but almost as if it were a softer one. Reading other posts, it seems our engines have somewhat noise valves? I will follow up on what I hear this weekend. =P

with a 100k on there, have you installed new plug wires and plugs yet...a little skip here there can cause that idle problem....I would clean the throttle body as well, check all your vacuum hoses....etc....
