Default Does this look right?

I just installed the new-style tensioner pulley assembly (1122000970) on my SRT.

Started it up and ran it for 10 minutes, everything looked good from above, no rubbing/burning, etc.

However, when I look at the tensioner pulley assembly I notice that the belt is wider than the pulley (see pic).

Is that right?

I ordered the Litens tensioner pulley assembly from AutohausAZ (Your Parts Search Returned 1 Part(s)).

Thanks!
Jeremy

It looks like it isn't centered on the pulley.

I would double check ALL the pulleys and make sure the belt is in the grooves... I had one misaligned and didnt catch it until I found the outside rib cut off by the pulley's.... the belt looks fine, but is only a 7 rib now..... (no, it is not still on the car)

I would agree with this. Just looks offset maybe

Thanks for the replies.

One thing I noticed before installing the new-style tensioner is that the original tensioner pulley was wider than this one. I don't have a picture but you can see how much narrower this pulley is by the remainder of the belt from the original picture post.

I double-checked that the belt was seated properly.

I'm guessing I ordered the wrong tensioner assembly. Does anyone else have assembly 1122000970 installed? What is the recommended assembly for (stock) SRT's?

I suppose I can order another idler pulley and replace on this assembly.

Thanks,
Jeremy

I had a similar problem after fitting my 181 and pulley saver kit. Ended up putting an M17 spring washer behind the pulley on the tensioner, to push the pulley out towards the radiator. I had to grind the inside of the washer to get it to fit. Now the belt is centered, and it's been ok for the last 4000mls of (hard) driving.......

That tensioner is from Needswings?

I think I need to find a wider pulley and replace.

The tensioner is original, but the pulley is replaced by a one supplied in the pulley saver kit, which is why it has a rounded shape on the outside edge. my belt was 'hanging' over this rounded edge, but putting the washer behind it, spaces it out, away from the block, and the belt rides more central

I've contacted Needswings, waiting to place an order for the enlarged pulley.

Order placed, thanks everyone.
