Default 5 Point TORX for MAF removal

I found a source for this tool:

Duratool Five Point Torx Security Bit Set, 11 Pieces | BS-11T (BS11T) | Duratool

If you need it. I bought a set for myself.

I bought a dewalt 5 point torx set at homedepot for about $8 bucks. Just another place people can snag one.

Made by DeWalt? Cool. Please provide a part number for others to use? Thanks!

Wish I had that before I pulled mine out. I did find that a nice set of vise grips can grip the head of the screw and turn it out. It isn't torqued down very hard since it is in plastic, but the proper tool is definitely the way to go!

The thread started about five point Torx and then two sets mentioned are six point security bits.
I mention this before someone buys the wrong set.

huh, I know that Dewalt at homedepot had two different sets in the same exact packaging. One must be 6 and the other 5 because the one I bought worked perfectly.

James, I did some digging on the DeWalt and Bosch websites and could nut find any 5 points in the online catalogs. Standard (6-point) and 6-point security only.

Don't know what to say...

To remove my 5 point Torx screw in the MAF I used a tamper flat screw driver. That's a flat bit with a notch in the centre to clear the pin.
It worked OK but made a bit of a mess of the socket.

Every tool has its job and every job has its tool...

Ask my wife. She'll tell you what a tool I can be...and some friends will, too...
