Borla Yet ?
Pics of installed BORLA are in my gallery.
SOTP seems more than stock but might just be I'm justifying the monies spent.
My shopmade seems to be more responsive.
I'll have to get some numbers from my G-Timer.
BORLA says 7-10%
K&N says 10%
Chip Company says 20%
Only a Dyno would tell for sure.
Want a smile...IF IF IF!!!
IF.....Chrysler says the Crossfire has 215.00 HP
AND IF...BORLA gives 10% (21.50)...15.00 + 21.50 = 236.50 HP
AND IF...K&N gives 10% (23.65)...236.50 + 23.65 = 260.15 HP
AND IF...STUSA Chip gives 20% (52.03)...260.15 + 52.03 = 312.18 HP
Lots of IFs...but the math looks good!!!

The math looks good and the 312.18 bhp sounds really nice, but you can't just add horsepower up like that. You'll probably get somewhere between 25 and 30 bhp over stock with the mods listed above.

It was all tongue in cheek!!!
Maybe we should get a "TORNADO"...you know, one of those funky little aluminum pieces that go in the air flow and swirl the air...don't they claim 60 HP gain!!!
That's tongue in BOTH cheeks!!!
REDCROSS, After looking at your installed photos it looks like the resonator you have is larger than what is on mine. If you get under there again measure the length and with. Mine is kinda oval and smaller than the muffler, yours looks like both are about the same size. Also mine doesn't have (as far as I remember) the clamp near the rear end. Is that just connecting the pipes or is it attached to the body. I reposted the ebay photos of my system.

Jim-
The clamp holds the two sections together and it seems to be in the same position.
Your photo looks the same with only three differences I notice...you have Round Tips and mine are Oval, the rear hanger is different and I agree your resonator does look thinner. I still believe it's a "Smuggled Out Prototype"!!!
I'll measure the resonator, but look at my gallery and compare sizes...they do look different.

Borla has them in stock on the shelf and ready to ship. I'll have mine on Wednesday and try to get it installed before we race at Willow Springs on Saturday.
Still wondering what it's going to sound like... Any audio files yet REDCROSS ?
OK here is the FINAL Tally!!!
As I posted before...
I have a $150.00 Escort Passport G-Timer (IMHO much better than the $250.00 G-Tech Pro that I had before) and logged the following times:
1. WITH Stock Exhaust, STUSA Chip and K&N Filters...
1/8th Mile - 9.720 @ 73.00 MPH
2. WITH my "Shop Made" Cat-Back Exhaust using Magnaflow Muffler and Resonator, STUSA Chip and K&N Filters (This is the Exhaust I have For Sale, that is a bit too loud for my ears)...
1/8th Mile - 9.330 @ 76.00 MPH
3. WITH the BORLA Cat-Back Exhaust,STUSA Chip and K&N Filters...
1/8th Mile - 9.450 @ 74.10 MPH
As you can see they are all relatively close Magnaflow, BORLA and then Stock.
At the local Drag Strip with their $$ equipment:
WITH Stock Exhaust, STUSA Chip and K&N Filters...1/8th Mile - 9.845 @ 72.45 MPH
Device error...1/8th Mile - .125 @ .55 MPH
Really not bad for the investment.
Like we used to say in the Military...Close enough for Government Work!!!

So if you don't care about the noise the Magnaflow is the way to go.
Bassanni Exhausts makes a resonator tip that has an insert that can be removed. I have them it on my Pt Cruiser, Very loud & slightly better performance out, If you can say the Pt has any power in or out, and quieter with them in.

That is how it worked out for me. The Magnaflow gave the most bang for the buck.
Don't get me wrong the Magnaflow is NOT unbearable...
...it is just NOT where I wanted to be.
Actually, it is something I could have lived with...if necessary!
...but you know how us "Old Folks" can be!!!

RED... Agreed, the Magnaflow presents quite a bit more decibels than the OEM exhaust... I'm a bit more on the weekend racer side than most owners and can accept that added noise. Although, it is a bit more than one would want for regular driving...
I'm having somewhat of a problem from "BUZZING" from what I assume is the aluminum heat shield that surrounds the trough (TROFF) that insulates the exhaust system from the body... I might have to try and isolate the vibration coming from those pieces by stuffing some fiberglass in between the heat shield and the tub.
I am trying to post a sound file of the new exhaust note which you can clearly hear the "BUZZING", but for some reason the forum cannot accept my MAC formatted.mov... I'm trying to figure that out...

I know there was a LOT of excitement about the release (OR NOT) of the BORLA system, but now I see ...NADA!!
Was anyone else , but me, successful in getting the system???
Thoughts from those that did???
I know the thoughts on those that didn't!!

I did get the BORLA installed two weeks ago. It is definitely a bit stronger in sound than the stock unit. It is a bit boomy in a few spots, but a quick downshift seems to take care of that. I like the sound... great for a 6 cylinder engine. SOTP, I don't think there was a big horsepower addition. We tried to dyno the car as I have posted elsewhere, but front wheel speed sensor got us and that failed. So far, the K&N filters give the best bang for the buck modification. I actually could feel the gain in second and third. Bought the system direct from Borla, arrived in a nice box just like what REDCROSS got.
It arrived about 10 days after I ordered it, but that was over Thanksgiving, too. It does look just like the picture posted above.

BORLA has updated their site to include more info on the Crossfire.
I STILL have not seen any power specs.

Are you still selling you magnaflow setup Redcross? May be interested. Still trying to decide whether to start modding with the limited items we have or take a 8k hit and trade it in on a EVO. If i can just hit high 13's. I will then go to the suspension.
