Default SC oil change? Results?

Has anyone changed their sc oil? What mileage and how did the old oil look? I'm almost at 40,000 and wondering if I should start considering it, but if others have done it at 40k-60k and it still looked clean then no point.

Anytime is a good time to change it. It seems to get dirty pretty easily. Here's a link to the "How To" pdf that explains all....

I changed mine just to have new oil in it. (now at 20,000) No noticeable difference in temperature or operation. But it's fresh!

Changed mine at 23k and it was a smelly dark nasty oil that came out so a sc oil change is a good idea. Not too bad to do it but be sure to use some teflon tape on the threads when reinstalling the plug. The write up is a good 1 to look at before doing the change.

Hi guys,
I'm back and I just bought an Srt 6 with 36,000 miles. Haven't seen it yet since it will be shipped from Pennsylvania and it's too cold right now. I want to change the supercharger oil and I know I can get it at needswings, since Rob is always helpful... but how much do I put in? Do I just take out all I can with a syringe and put how much in? What's the technical amount? Thanks!

I'm just going to do the fuel filter, transmission fluid/filter change, and the supercharger oil change to begin with.

Refer to my second thread above for the PDF file that shows the entire process, including filling till it starts to come out the drain hole.

Thumbs up Re: SC oil change? Results?

Thanks! I must have missed the part about filling it till it ran out! I appreciate it. I already watched that and it was really nice of you to film it for posterity too!

With that many miles I would suspect that she still has the OEM Supercharger pump installed. I'd seriously consider replacing it with the upgraded Bosch #10 pump. The OEM ones are notorious for failing from the magnet impeller disintegrating. So far I've seen no reports of problems reoccurring with the new upgraded pump. Great price here with free shipping and lifetime warranty...

Here's a link to a PDF file that shows the removal of the OEM pump and it's location. The #10 is a simple plug & play replacement. Ignore the Johnson pump reference.
