Question R170 SLK Supercharge Inv. Parts

Does anyone have the list of SLK AMG (R170) supercharger parts inventory numbers? This would be a huge help!

Boba: I had the parts manager at Auto Steigler MB here in LA give me a quote for all the supercharger, Intercooler parts necessary to upgrade the car from NA to SC. The total cost was 4,500. I unfortunately did not ask him for all the parts #'s because there were about 30 0f them.

The AMG supercharger found on the Crossfire SRT-6 will fit the non-supercharged V6, however at great expense. Not only do you need an engine wiring harness and ECU, but you will also need to lower the compression ratio, which basically means you will need to tear down the engine, and put the AMG spec. crankshaft, connecting rods and pistons into the engine. The MB supercharger runs a hefty 15 lbs boast.
After getting fare amount of information I am leaning towards Kleemans. Total bolt on with no engine mods, no ECU change , no fuel pump change, no wiring harness change, 7 lbs. boast and still 330 hp. With their chip it is around 350 hp.
Only issue is price. $9,500 plus $1300 for install. They do offer a 1 year warranty and I think when you price out all the above, you may find it a reasonable option. I have more info. on their SC if you would like.
The Xfire is still pretty new and everyone of them is still under warranty. Just wait until the warranties are done. I think Vortech will probably weigh in by then with an affordable unit but so far I still like Kleemanns.
You probably know all this already if you have been reading the forum but I thought I would bring up again. Let us know what you do. Good luck.

Thanks ... but yes ive been around this forum then most of you newbies ... and I was just looking for inventory numbers... I have local forced air shops that will do this for me no problem... just trying to find some inventory numbers so i can pull off all the parts from car-parts.com ... found the intercooler and charger... will cost about $700 for a lifetime warranty supercharger off the AMG'ed Benzo... I'll send ya'll specs onces its all done... I always finish my mods and I got the funding to do the supercharge...

enjoy your new years

oh yah... u can bolt on that same AMG system .. .run a lower boost amount on it... and get it all done for half the price of anything these named people want... just find a nice shop that can help you out ... or do it yourself

Hi Dan:
It appears from the information I recieved that the hp is the same with 15 lbs. boost with the SRT-6 supercharger or with the K 's 7 lbs. boost. It's just that with the SRT-6 SC you need to change engine internals, the ECU and wiring harness. With the K unit you leave those items as the boost of 7lbs. matches up with the stock compression of our Xfires.
I think that Bobafettm has some good contacts and/or good hands on experience that are going to save him the expensive mods that I would have to pay someone to do. He is going to let us know how it works out.
As far as warranty goes, that is a big issue. By the time most of our warranties are up, I suspect we will see more avilability of performance parts and who knows, maybe from DC with warranties.....?

You can lower the boost output of the stock blower by changer to a larger diameter pully.

HP = same as SRT-6 ...
and Warranty... thats been gone looooooong ago...

I have a guy thats been a family friend for a long *** time... he does only superchargers now... completely FORGOT about him lol... so it wouldnt cost me to much in labor... just gotta get the charger... this man has done some of the best hot rods in the michigan area.... he has built numerous of famous drag cars... he knows what he is doing and will hook me up with the best thing possible for my compression I'm gonna have a sit down with him next week hopefully so we can start scouting and seeing weither I should grab the AMG system and tune down... or build a custom ....

I'll hook it up either way... it will be uber lol

Bob:
Just read an article on the Nismo 350Z S-Tuned but I don't know how close that is to the Z33.
I see the titanium exhaust for the Z33 is $5,510 and the caliper systems are between $5,500 & $8,700. I'd never talk my wife into spending that kind of money for a street car and I won't be racing it. The single turbo isn't too bad though at $5,500. Nice thing is, that there is a lot of after market stuff available for the Z33, which I hope comes around for my Xfire down the road. Do you have to build it yourself or is it available already done to your specs and how much dollars?
The Z350 was my 2nd choice when I bought my Xfire, so I know how you feel. Nice car and with lots of parts available. I have heard a lot of good things about the Z's V-6 engine too. Good luck, I know it's a tough choice!
