I need a little advise, I am the currant owner of a 02 SLK320 and am looking into purchasing a SRT6. The trans in my car is
well just plan awful, long sloooow shifts even at WOT, harsh downshifts that upsets the cars balance, in manual mode you need to
lead the shift by at least 1000rpm to avoid hitting the rev limiter.

I did some research into the trans and am surprised at what cars it came in, this is a beast of a trans! Very strong. I see that the
SLK 32 AMG came with a faster shifting version of this trans and I'm sure that the Hellcat shifts faster then this.

The question is does the stock SRT6 shift quickly or is it as bad as my car. Is there mods that can be done to make the trans
shift faster-harder?

While on the driveline subject, is the rear strong in these and do I have a few final drives available?

steve I see u have not used the search at the top right of the page but!
to answer some of you questions, it is not your tranny it is your the tcu that controls how soon/slow/fast or hard your transmission shifts.
I am running a stock/rear with a wavetrac .and have for the last 483 blast down the 1/4 mile.
to change your gears in the rear you need the diff,& a tcu made to your S/N and year
I have diff's for sale 3.07,,,3.27,,,3.46 and those are the gears that you have a choice of your car either has a 3.07 or a 3.27 in it the 3.46 with wavetrac and tcu

Sorry for the inconvenience but I could not find a link comparing the 320 (or I assume a stock Crossfire) and a
SRT6 or a faster shifting SLK32 AMG. Wondering if a stock Crossfire has the same slow shifting I do. If I can't
make the trans behave a little better it would be a game changer for me.

It's good to hear that the diff holds up to drag racing as does the trans. Does someone tune the TCU or is there a
hack I can buy to tune this trans. I see a lot for the Big Chrysler stuff but not much besides the blue top solenoids for
the 32 or SRT6.
