My Crossfire Went On Fire!!!!
I was driving on the Southern state of NY and all of a sudden i started to smell something and i saw my front want smoking, so i pulled over and i opened my hood (stupid of me) and flames just started coming out, so i called 911 and fire trucks came and stop the fire...my car is totaled now...now i have it in a shop trying to figure out why it went on fire...anyways i'll repost and tell you guys what happen...just be careful!
Could this have had anything to do with the recall and the cooling fan not working and the engine overheating? Your insurance company may be interested in the recall and possibly subrogating the loss against Chrysler if they're related.

That really sux...I feel for ya, as long as you are OK...I recently got my cooling fan replaced by the dealership...so far so good. Did you get your cooling fan replaced before the fire...if so you might have a case in your hands...if it so happens the cause was the cooling fan...good luck.
For Those Of You Who Don't, It Wouldn't Be A Bad Idea To Keep A Fire Extinguisher Aboard The Xf...
Hmmm That's Grim News... Sorry To Hear About Your Engine Fire... Good Thing It Wasn't Worse...
Good Luck

You can either head over to you local chrysler dealer or contact DC direct to see if there are any recalls for your year and model or search online. If you bought your Xfire from the dealership then you should be getting notices, if you haven't you shouldn't worry then but it doesn't hurt to check with your dealer.

Sure the dealer may receive official info first from DCHQ... but this forum has an edge because we are driving these cars everyday and feed each other our daily compliments or gripes with the XF. As "they" say information is power! hehehehe
so if you hit the search button above, enter your keyword such as RECALL you will the most updated info on the internet regarding recalls... in fact i believe the XFF.org has a permanent topic on this on the home page TSBs or something like that.
This place is one big XF database... its GREAT! enjoy it and the XF.
so where is GORO and his crossfire mishap??? ...hmmm?
XFLTD... where is this guy??? you & i know the Southern state very well, so, i know a NY state trooper who patrols the SS from the rt110 exit up to robert moses state park... and he said he saw nothing about an XF burning... in nass or suff...
and i am not making a serious accusation but if this story is true, i want to know about it, after all i drive one and drive people in it. however if you look at the member's join date, it was goro's 1st post... hmmm i might be smelling a rat.

I would like to know also, for the same reasons. I know the SS like the back of my hand. I have a few friends that are also State Troopers in Nassau & Suffolk Counties and said they know nothing about this event. Seems a little strange or maybe over exaggerated.

~ well... he was on the boards today... and no response...
OK EVERYONE
,
I am sorry about not keeping every updated but I was very busy from work and the problems with my car...I know I haven't been on but here is the story...
As you remember I wrote a post saying my XF went on fire on the southern stat about a month ago. The Chrysler Dealership has informed me that the Engine in my car wasn't the same engine as Chrysler had put in (I had bought this car used not knowing anything really) and the engine inside my XF was a piece of crap. So they said that this is why my XF went on fire... i am really sorry I got any of you nervous.
I've been trying to contact the guy who sold me the XF but as you can guess, No contact yet
...hehe...anyways, i just bought myself a Chrysler Pacifica from the dealership. I've heard this car being one of the top SUV. It drives real smooth and it gets good MPG. Anyways, i am sorry again for getting everyone nervous.
ENJOY YOUR CROSSFIRES!...
