Modified Jaguar XK8 Intake on a XF?
Since no performance intakes are designed for our cars, I started looking around at various engine designs and noticed that the Jag XK8 intake seems to attach in a similar position to our cars', there are also a few companies producing performance intakes for the XK8...
Just a thought.
Anyone know of any other cars with the intake at the rear of the engine block?

I've made a few intakes before, however the best performing intake I've had was one that had molded plexi-glass around it so that it drew in air from behind the headlight and from the inside of the fender well only. I sealed the intake from the warm air inside the engine bay.

I'm probably going to do something similar to that again. Very simple, but very effective...
Many companies sell "cold air intakes" that actually won't draw in any cold air what so ever. Simply putting a bigger air filter under the hood does not make a CAI, air has to be directed from outside the engine bay into the air filter otherwise you'll see minimal gains if not a loss in HP.
Has anyone tried a "cool can" before? One of my buddies that does some professional racing recommended one of these to me...
